It is but unfortunately it was printed when "mana burn" was a thing. Now my friends just tap out for no reason, which is fine with me, but it makes it kind awkward to use properly

But the point of the deck is to tap their lands.... So... Its awesome. They take damage no matter what.

Glad I could help :) maybe take a look at my profile? Let me know what you think of my ideas :) I made a deck similar to yours, I'll upload it soon :)

You could also try Mesmeric Orb+Gaea's Blessing

It's likely you already know this... but your opponent can tap lands for mana in response to mana web's ability. so if I tap a land Mana web tries to tap all of my other lands but I can just tap 'em all, fill my pool and spend it that phase. I will say though if I do that I'll take like 6 damage from your venomous auras... ya jerk. that said it looks like a fun deck to hate to play against. +1

Yes but with cards like Errant Minion in play they either take 2 damage or have to use all their mana in their upkeep. Which basically makes the rest of their turn useless unless they had a ton of instants in their upkeep to play. Slow Motion is in the side board for this reason as well but its only super useful if they have creature heavy decks.

The point of the deck is not to prevent them from doing things but rather make them pay for doing anything. And to give them limited choices as to what they can do and when each turn.

Doesn't seem to have enough land. Definitly agree with Stab Wound since it forces your opponents to lose life and could even be a win condition.

If you aren't worried at all about money, put in The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. It's great against aggro, the only creature you have is Fog Bank which you won't need once this baby comes out, and it just screws them over even more. Great deck!+1

Pendrell Mists is the vastly cheaper version of that that i have considered lol

Um, Winter Orb???

That defeats them being able to tap more than one land and lets them choose to not to untap any pain causing lands. I want their lands to untap because then they all get to tap again and then they die faster.

That's fair.

Going to put 4x [power of the moon] in here as soon as i can. What should be taken out?

Power of the Moon - 2U

Whenever an opponent casts a spell sacrifice Power of the Moon and counter that spell.

Its all about the mind games peopleJust seeing this on the board with all the pain enchants might be enough to break anyones will and just make them scoop.

Have you considered Tangle Wire?

Also Wall of Tears could be hilarious. Not sure if it's better than Fog Bank, but looking at it amuses me.

Maybe a Memory Erosion for extra fun times?

August 9, 2016 11:15 a.m.

-Orvos- says... #19

I like the idea of the licids. Ive been considering them for a long time.

If memory erosion did damage rather than make them mill that would be worth it but they would have to cast probably 20 spells before memry erosion could be considered helpful.

looks very solid and annoying :) You could consider Fabricate to make sure you get mana web. You could also include Norn's Annex. Have a great day

The7thBobba thanks for the upvote! It is solidly annoying :D I have a hard time actually playing it because I know just how much people will hate me for it. It literally drains the "life" (haha) out of the game!

I hadn't even considered Fabricate for this deck! It's a great idea!!! I'd probably put 2 of them in, any suggestions on what to remove?

Also I did have 3x Norn's Annex in here in a very early iteration of this deck... it came down to... It hurts sooooooo bad to play it, and usually by the time I could muster up the to pay it I'd have many more torturous things I'd want to play instead. In the end it came down to, it was a good card in the deck but of all the and cost cards in the deck, the added 4 life to pay Norn's Annex made me never want to play it before something else, so it was removed...

you're most welcome! Yeah, I get it with the phyrexian mana, I have it in a somewhat similar deck: Orzhov Orthodoxy and there, it is a beast! as for what to remove? hmm, it might seem insane to propose this, but your spells are very cheap - I think you could survive cutting a few lands. I usually run only 20 lands, and that seems to work for me. If not lands, then maybe a single seizures and fog bank - they seem like they are the least "core" to your deck. Stay pufft!

Nice deck, I've made a Modern version of this a few years ago.Whenever my friend wants to play his discard deck, I take this one out.Nobody wants to play against this.

Nice deck, I like so use Whelming Wave against tokens heavy decksA big weakness of this deck is elves and any deck with a source other than lands to provide mana. Some destroy in the sideboard is a good option.

Early Frost is another of my favorites with mana short for a few turns of free damage and wasted turns.

Hey man here is a deck Ive been playing since 2006 or so. Its been updated since but maybe you can get some ideas. Urborg land is a fantastic idea, I just sold mine too haha.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/12-01-15-poisoned-lands/

I recommend Stab Wound over Errant Minion as it prevents damage against you and racks up the damage to boot. Siren's Call is one of my favorites with Propaganda out there. I used to use it with Ensnare which is dirtier, but hey this deck is pretty damn dirty as is ;p. Also with no creatures you can always Reins of Power FTW, which is quite hilarios

-Orvos- says... #25

mickalopagus thanks for your input! :D Errant Minion actually has a very specific role in this deck. The idea is to make them have to choose what phase they are going to use their mana in. With Mana Web out and an urbog whenever they use any mana they have to use it all. SOOOOOO..... if they pay to prevent any damage from errant minion they no longer have mana for their main phase or to attack me during the combat phase. Its like a less effective version of Mana Short that does damage instead. Also if they can't attack me because they can't pay for it that trumps the -2/-2 from Stab Wound. Anyways.. thats my reasoning, thanks for taking a look at my deck :D
