Because Violent Outburst can overrun some games with Bitterblossom tokens and Monastery Swiftspear while cascading into removal.
Lol, Doesn't really make sense when I can just as easily draw into Abrupt Decay, Terminate, Lightning Bolt.
Plus a bird is a perfect target for a sword if needed.

Raging Ravine does much better in longer matches. Consider that.
Also, in terms of Rakdos Charm being able to deal with Twin, I've never thought of that before. However, I think Illness in the Ranks might be the better way to go. It can cascade from Violent Outburst, and rather than Rakdos Charm, it is a permanent, but less versatile. Each has its ups and downs, so I recommend having about 1 of each (maybe 1 Illness and 2 charms?)

+1 for the name. I LOVE half life. Also, this is really solid! Good job!

so...4 R/B fetchlands, and 4 B/G fetchlands, AND NOT THE R/G FETCH? NOT A SINGLE ONE?! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

Lol, Black is the main source in the deck, Hence the double black fetchlands mang.

I see. Still, what if you draw a T3 Violent Outburst but don't have the mana to cast it? This is where fetches come in handy: they let you play your good stuff on a schweet curve.

I can fetch Overgrown Tomb with a Bloodstained Mire Or I can get a Blood Crypt with a Verdant Catacombs. There's no way Im not hitting that Violent Outburst turn 3 brah.
I own the deck on paper (sans Dark Confidant x3 bugger is hard to get) and it's honestly so easy on the mana base. The deck will literally function on the 3 lands.

Now, I don't wanna be that one guy who rants about how expensive Damnation is. That being said, Damnation is really expensive. I usually go for Mutilate.

Lol, I totally do.
Emergency situations only though.
It's in the sb

Damnation is easy money compared to stuff like Liliana of the Veil and Bob. So few people willing to let go of any of them, but Id say Damnation probably the easiest to come by of the 3.

Niiiiice, Sols has been hard to come by lately. Even tried to get that Italian one you traded away lmao

Birds of Paradise seems underwhelming here. Cascading into one would kinda really suck, and your curve is SUPER low already, so why bother with ramp? Fixing isn't an issue either.
I like the list overall, though. Interesting use of Cascade.

selesvyaloverer8 I've been playing around with Demonic Dread. Only thing holding it back is the fact that it's sorcery speed.
@Jay Still working out if the Birds is necessary. I own this on paper and I do find myself using the birds for mana sometimes and I have won a game or two just attaching a sword too it and beating face.
Something to ponder still.

This deck! Seems like it can do some sick sick things. +1
March 7, 2015 12:04 p.m.
@almerican on paper it's alot of fun man, and very explosive, Alot of people just don't know how it works so it's a sneaky deck =)
March 7, 2015 12:11 p.m.
Even when it's spoiled it's not going to be as good for me.
I HIGHLY doubt it's gonna cost 2 CMC as all the others are more expensive and it does so much for the deck.
Being able to bolt someone and pump my weenies another +1 is huge but doing to to both Power AND toughness just makes it that much better.
Seriously, Hitting one of these on a Violent Outburst with just a couple Bitterblossom tokens, Dark Confidant and a Monastery Swiftspear is a nice slap to the face

why the violent outburst, it just seems like you are paying 3 mana for a birds of paradise with that
