Jeskai Token Control (2xFirst @ FNM)

Standard FNM RUW (Jeskai, America)

Harook

Sideboard

My current Jeskai Tokens deck.

Basic premise is the same as other lists. Go wide with tokens, control the board, use your spells to make your dinky little tokens huge and deal plenty of hurt out.

Noticeable differences in this deck are the increased amount of tapped lands and control. I find this mix to be optimal against the widest range of decks. Because it runs spells like Banishing Light which can be used on more than just creatures, it doesn't have any truly awful matchups.

Quick Sideboard Breakdown (This is all general stuff, different, and more specific matchups will take different cards).

Aggro Decks - Plainswalkers, and Banishing Light out. Anger of the Gods and Congregate in.

Midrangy Decks - Magma Jet s and Narset Transcendent out. End Hostilities, Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Banishing Light, Devouring Light , Valorous Stance in.

Controll Decks - End Hostilities and Devouring Light out. Purphoros, God of the Forge, Elspeth, Sun's Champion, and Myth Realized in.

Went 5-0 first time at the shop, very cool.

Round 1 - Grixis Dash. 2-0. Was a pretty easy set. The other guy flooded a little in game one and was low on mana game two. His removal was mostly bounce which didn't bother me at all. Game 1 he got nothing going till around turn 6 and I spot removed his Kolaghan and went in for lethal. Game two he did a bit of dash but I ended up going wider and overran him.

Round 2 - Abzan Aggro. 2-0. Was quick but a little scary in game 2. Game one I just beat him down before he could get moving. Game 2 he had a few big threats that got me low but I stabilized with some top deck spot removal and he didn't draw into anything else I couldn't handle.

Round 3 - Red/Green Dragons. 2-1. Honestly one of the scarier sets. He crushed me in game 1 with tons of damage. Sided in my sweepers and squeaked out game 2 when he didn't topdeck much. Game three he kept a low mana hand with a mystic that I removed. He couldn't recover.

Round 4 - Rakdos Dragon Control. 2-0. Easy games, much more so than round 3. Curved out well, removed his threats and was never in any real danger.

Round 5 - Esper Dragons. 2-1. What a dreadful matchup. Game one was a slaughter, he stopped every threat I could present and drew tons of cards. Game two I sided in some higher relevance cards and won off the back of a quirky Impact Tremors I have since switched out and a humongous Myth Realized. Game three was looking terrible until he let me resolve my one-off Narset Transcendent. He didn't draw any downfalls and I was actually able to ult and stop his non-creature spells. After that it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Having seen the deck over a few weeks of games I've made some changes which are represented in the list now.

Took out all my Goblin Rabblemasters and put in Secure the Wastes. Moved a few sideboard and mainboard cards around, notably 1 Eslpeth and 1 Hostilities in. Added some more hard removal and health gain while removing some burn.

Still not sure on the Goblin Rabblemasters, I'm going to have to playtest without them and see how I do.
