I agree with what you were saying, counters may be nessacary but u can always use silumgar sorcerer too sac a token off collected company or another creature when it enters and then that can counter a creature spell and then game two if you see they are spell heavy just side in negate. I think torrent elemental could be a good edition in yours and mine, then maybe add aetherspouts to the sideboard as a sweeper if nessecary late game

Yep, I think some sort of sweeper is in demand, AEtherspouts is probably needed in SB. Like I commented on your deck, sac'ing a token to Silumgar Sorcerer has rarely come up in all my games, not really a play, you'll usually sac himself, unfortunately, but he is reachable by CoCo, so it's a somewhat tutorable creature counter. I am thinking about Torrent Elemental, I had him in previous iterations pre-CoCo, but he was somewhat underwhelming. Not sure if the green splash can get add some value back, making his second ability potentially relevant in some matchups. However for that he really wants you to run at least 1 copy of Dig Through Time so you can effectively pull him from the graveyard.

Yh he is a tiny bit high on the curve aswell unfortunatley because you kinda wanna be winning witrh a mass of unblockable creatures by turn five tbh ha

Mintaaayyy says... #6

or atleast have such a large board that you make the biggest unblockable and then swarm ha

I feel like you need another mana sink be sides Thassa. She does great but you cant always get her and even then it seems like you produce 8+ blue and thassa uses some of it. maybe some Clash of Wills might be good

I'm not sure Clash of Wills is interesting, I'd rather actually cast Dissolve, because I'd still like to have mana open to play my creatures, most of which have flash. I'm considering cutting Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx as well. The major problem is the lack of power in the later game, I'd need some way to reset the board, which is why I'm considering AEtherspouts.

tmanc1 says... #9

Dont cut Shrine because late game Thassa plus a flash creature or two means you can hit for 10+ unblockable damage bu pumping shrine to get 6+ mana

damnpete says... #10

That is true, just gotta be sure Nykthos doesn't cause me to lose a potential drop 2...

you only have one that it would make you miss which is harbinger but you'd want to cast that on flash for 4 mana anyway Shrine still taps for a colorless to play Jace turn two

Correct, but there's Kiora's Follower too, which enables turn 3 Company... I have to playtest more with this, I've only had time to run a few tests vs RG Devotion until now (but I must say it did have a satisfactory performance).

Have you played this deck in FNM after July 24? If so, can you please tell me how you placed. I'm looking in to green blue decks so I want to see how well some place. +1 btw

Chord of Calling was interesting. One interesting play with it was doing X = 4, initially to play Master of Waves. In response, however, my opponent destroyed my Shorecrasher Elemental and had a Brimaz, King of Oreskos on the table. I then decided to bring in Clever Impersonator copying Brimaz, which effectively "countered" his creature. I ended up losing the game though, but that play gave me some breathing room.Reclamation Sage is nice in the current meta and makes some opponents feel like you can "do everything" what with counters, bounces, tapping and artifact/enchantment removal.

Alright thanks for posting the results. One thing though, is Chord of Calling in your sideboard? Sorry i'm just wondering where the card is.

It's actually replacing the 4th copy of Collected Company, which I currently don't have.

I think someone who trains a bit with this deck can probably perform decently. I don't think I'm too great a player, I misplay too much, which hinders the deck's performance... I'll play it again tomorrow, lets see what gives :)

Nice, sounds good. good luck. Do you think you will get the fourth CoCo soon btw.

damnpete says... #24

Yes. Probably next week, I have purchased it already, just waiting for it to arrive :) But for tomorrow I'll have to go without it

Quick question. When Theros and M15 rotate out are you abandoning this deck or finding some replacements? (Just with the sets now, not counting Battle for Zendikar)
