When I saw Demonic Pact I thought that it would be a dead end card, making changes to the game too subtle to really make a difference. After seeing it quickly become an sleeper hit deck, I thought I would make my own take on it.

Demonic Pact is a card you build around. Use a control shell and have it help keep the game in your favour.

The two base colours are almost always definitively B/U. Some variations of the pact deck splash white for an almost Esper dragons shell, others splash green and go for the Sultai control shell. I would say splashing green offers more of what is needed in a deck featuring Demonic Pact, and so that is the third colour I have chosen to go with.

Green offers quite a bit of utility that white just doesn't offer. It gives us self-mill which goes into self-recursion with a Den Protector + Satyr Wayfinder combo. It gives a potential blowout with a Invasive Species + Woodland Bellower combo netting us 9/8 and a free bounce of a Demonic Pact from the Invasive Species. Finally, green gives us one of the best utility cards in standard at the moment; Sultai Charm. This card does everything any player would want to do ever. Period. AND it kills Gaea's Revenge. Who wouldn't want a card that could do that!

diegosolis has what I might consider to be a great BUG control shell for this build around.

Another deck I referenced is one used by Daniel Fournier at the Vancouver ProTour Demonic Pact

If we combine these two ideas for control shells, plus Demonic Pact and Woodland Bellower, whom Njhill has a great deck base Demonic Sultai, we can get a really good idea of what to include and what not to include.
