Maybeboard

We're Boros. What do we like to do? _Attack! _ This deck has evolved from an Akiri equipment deck to a tuned deck that allows you to laugh maniacally while flamethrowing the world! Evaluated as a Power Level 6, but that's a load of crap. This deck is underestimated and has won me more EDH games than any of my other decks with greater power ratings. It's a deck that doesn't immediately make me the archenemy (like many of my other salter decks) and opponents don't mind seeing this opposing commander; boros is considered weak in EDH and is underestimated.

Strengths of the deck:

Iroas, God of Victory *list* + Pyrohemia = you can flamethrower the world in the middle of an attack and your creatures are just fine. This will make your pod go "oh shit". Use your Splendor Mare + Nesting Grounds to give pyrohemia lifelink and laugh even more like a maniac! There are other cards that abuse Iroas that I don't have in my collection. I found that griffstick has a very similar build called "Iroas, Menace to society" (https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/iroas-god/), which shows other ways to abuse Iroas. In particular Powerstone Minefield and Lightmine Field punish your opponents for attacking, but Iroas's ability protects your dudes. I'm not including them because: 1. I don't have them in my collection and 2. they are not conditional. If Iroas leaves the field, our own attackers are vulnerable and that could slow down the application of our beatdown.

Boros Reckoner or Spitemare + lifelink Basilisk Collar Splendor Mare Angelic Skirmisher + indestructible Boros Charmfoil Boromir, Warden of the Tower Hammer of Nazahn Zamriel, Seraph of Steelfoil Akiri, Fearless Voyager = infinite life

Aurelia, the Warleader or Godo, Bandit Warlord + Helm of the Host or Sword of Hearth and Home = infinite attacks (equip the sword on any other creature).

Sunforger increases your ability to interact with evolving board states and this deck can tutor it out easily. I've read that this card only works when a deck is built around it. I disagree. This card is your backpocket savor: being able to instantly tutor out Boros Charmfoil can end games (with double strike) or save your board for a wraith, Deflecting Palm can save you from that alpha strike and take out an opponent, Teferi's Protection can save you from mass exile (Farewell) and is one of only a few ways to dodge Cyclonic Rift, can hit a stax piece through Wear / Tear, and at worst you can draw spot removal.

Mob Rule is a finisher when board states are jammed. Why wraith when you can just take all their dudes and kill them?

Mutavault and Mishra's Factory provide a way to save Pyrohemia from sacrificing itself if an opponent board wipes all of the creatures in play (animate them on the end step).

Lots of tutoring, card draw, and instant speed shenanigans. This deck has staying power and recursion when it needs it. A lot of fun to play!

Playing the deck. You are the beatdown player. Your opponents are the control players. Apply pressure and kill the most dangerous opponent first. Don't try to overly politic or maintain parity that keeps everyone in the game. Identify the biggest threat and smash it. There is an amazing vintage article that describes these two roles, which can be found here: https://articles.starcitygames.com/articles/whos-the-beatdown/ . With this deck you are almost always the beatdown player. The only reason to not continually apply pressure is in those rare cases where you gain board state by laying low and let two other players go at each other throats. Remember, Boros is underestimated in EDH and you may not be seen as the initial largest threat to the table.
