Big Red - Burn a little longer.

A slower take on mono-red, with threats starting at Flamewake Phoenix and ranging up to Soul of Shandalar.

There is some burn, but it is geared toward clearing the board rather than dealing damage. I'm not sure I've got the mix right though, there are too many good options. I think what is there should be able to deal with most things, but Lightning Strike would be better if there's a lot of aggro, and Bathe in Dragonfire would be great to kill Coursers, Butchers, etc.

Tormenting Voice, Vaultbreaker, and Chandra, Pyromaster let you see more cards. Aside from Chandra it is all card selection rather than card advantage though, which leads me to consider adding Humble Defector.

Sideboard has a mix of bigger burn with side benefits against graveyards or planeswalkers, board wipe for tokens, artifact hate for Whips mostly, and lifegain for aggro where life is very relevant.

Notes on other things to try:

• Remove the Phoenixes. Maindeck Anger, add more Souls and Vaultbreakers.
• Use Arcbond with the Phoenixes instead of Anger. Slower but gets rid of the anti-synergy. Find room for Circle of Flame to cover early game.
