Allies, with Alesha to recur them.

With the new BFZ block Allies, I've been able to include utilize the Swords quite consistently. Being able to reanimate Stoneforge Mystic with Alesha is very powerful, as well as the usual Ally ETB abilities.

Mardu has the best removal spells, and I've put the strongest into the deck. Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile are the most efficient creature removal spells ever printed. Anguished Unmaking and Oblivion Ring are there for problem artifacts or enchantments, but can be used for creature removal in a pinch.

The general strategy is to tutor or dig for the best Sword for the situation, equip to a creature, and start swinging. Stoneforge Mystic, Stoneforge Acolyte , Enlightened Tutor, and Steelshaper's Gift are all there to help you find that Sword. Masterwork of Ingenuity is there to give you two copies of that Sword, which usually is back breaking for your opponents. And if your sword happens to be destroyed, you can get it back with Buried Ruin .

The biggest problem you will face when running this list is an opponent using a deck full of removal. Board sweepers are especially hurtful. As such, you must resist the urge to over-extend yourself. A well timed Toxic Deluge from your opponent can turn your certain victory into a crushing defeat. Alesha helps with this with her ability, to an extent. Using Aether Vial to flash in a Kabira Evangel trigger is a handy little trick to counter a targeted removal spell, or a Pyroclasm effect. Sigarda's Aid is another such trick, allowing you to flash in a Sword or Swiftfoot Boots to protect a single creature.
