This is an Aristocrats deck. Curve is important. Plays a lot of cheap stuff and would actually be much worse if it tried to play "better," more expensive vampires. Anything that costs more than 3 better be capable of doing A LOT of work.

Razaketh, the Foulblooded is easily the star of the deck. Ultimately, you tend to try to kill with things like Malakir Bloodwitch or Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Exsanguinate... but you almost always try to go through Razaketh being cast first. Nykthos and Razaketh are basically the best things to be trying to get to. If you have either then a tutor is often for other. If you have neither and only a single tutor then you usually try to get Necropotence to start (and don't be afraid to draw plenty of extra cards - just drawing up to 7 is normally wrong).

Bonus points: always complain about being "mana-screwed" because you can't cast your commander.
