The random dragons are there just as big beaters if the horde of tokens isn't doing it. I suppose I could take a few of them out for more token production.

Genesis Chamber is a really strong way to trigger purphoros.

Have you considered using Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker ? Also I've found Vandalblast and Shattering Pulse can be good removal options for edh.

They're not really token makers but it might be worth considering Squee, Goblin Nabob and Archwing Dragon

Consider playing things like Decree of Annihilation and Jokulhaups with Crucible of Worlds . Also I've found that Karn Liberated in my Purphoros deck, while not fitting the theme, does very well at creating a target other than you, and if not targeted takes over the game in a big way

Also I would replace Mass Mutiny with Insurrection . It's strictly better in EDH

This is cool, I'm running a similar deck and working on it. I have a question about Hellion Eruption working with Purphoros. I was looking to use that, but wouldn't that resolve after you sac him? Do you just not care at that point because you'd have a bunch of 4/4 tokens? Also Utvara Hellkite is fun token guy.

Tigerhawk55,

The way I play Purphoros, I rarely want him becoming a creature. An indestructible enchantment is MUCH more difficult to remove than an indestructible creature. I run a lot of tokens to keep my devotion below 5 intentionally. Under those circumstances, Purphoros is not sacced to the Hellion Eruption , and I get to replace my 1/1 Goblins with 4/4 Hellion's, all the while getting the Purphoros triggers.

I used to run Utvara Hellkite , but I found his mana cost made him too slow for my deck. Far too often it was just a dead card in my hand.

maybe Feldon of the Third Path to bring back creatures that make tokens

Maybe a little Mob Justice to bring it all home?

Love the deck, a definite +1!! Just looking at newer sets, it might be worth considering Descent of the Dragons, which is pretty much a new Must Have for this kind of deck. And if you want to attack in relatively frequently, it might be worth putting in a Dragonrage. It's basically 3 for 7 or 8 that can be used to burn out some guys or pump your own. Finally, Outpost Siege could be nice here, in particular with something like Grinning Ignous or one of the sac' engines.

(And sorry for not linking any of these cards, I'm new to the site).

By the way, you also might want to consider giving Chandra's Spitfire a look. With Purphoros alone, it's a huge bomb. Add in things like Guttersnipe into the equation and suddenly things are getting far more intense.

Mana Echoes + Pentavus . Infinite commander damage with Purphy out. Mana Echoes is just a great card with all your goblin and elemental token generation. It basically removes the colorless cost from all your spells. Also: Gauntlet of Might for the oldskool lulz.

Norin the Wary seems like it would be fun to add, as well as Impact Tremors and Outpost Siege

Skittering Invasion is good as it can get you some of the mana you spend back.

Mana Echoes would push this deck into overdrive.

idk Ruby Medallion and Mimic Vat might be good. A lot of your creatures under Vat seem filthy, not to mention any fatties your opponent lets die.

I see that both have been suggested, but I do think that Feldon of the Third Path and Impact Tremors would be strong additions to this list.

Also, Vicious Shadows would enable you to bring the pain when critters leave the battlefield too... EVERYONE's critters.

I've already added Impact Tremors to the deck, and it really is amazing. I'll definitely consider adding Feldon of the Third Path.

The effect of Vicious Shadows would be amazing, but right now I'm trying to lower my mana curve.

Fair enough. Vicious Shadows is a real workhorse though

Liking the deck!

Thoughts on Goblin Bombardment or Goblin Sharpshooter? They'll let you KO one person a lot faster than the rest.

That's a really interesting idea. Could be helpful to have some selectivity with the direct damage. It may be a bit too goblin-dependent for my purposes though. A lot of my creatures/tokens are goblins, but I can't rely on always having enough goblins out to justify running Goblin Bombardment. Goblin Sharpshooter might work though.
