The goal is to loop powerful ETBs and deathrattles to control the board. Key card types to form an engine are Necromancers (Cauldron of Souls, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed), Sacrifice outlets (Warren Soultrader, Woe Strider), and Fuel (Solemn Simulacrum, Flayer of the Hatebound, Firbolg Flutist).

Two subthemes are Zealous Conscripts style effects since they combo with Marchesa to result in a permanent theft, and +1/+1 counters to help support Marchesa without the need of combat.

I intentionally won't include generically powerful cards in this list like Fierce Guardianship and Cyclonic Rift. I like to find more on-theme alternatives that accomplish something similar like Glen Elendra Archmage and Molten Primordial.

A goal I have for this deck is to make it as least reliant on Marchesa as possible, which is difficult since there aren't many similar effects. As alternative "necromancers" are added to the list, the +1/+1 counter subtheme will also be rolled back.
