Hero of Iroas is simply used as a heroic 2/2 for 2 that's easier to cast than Battlewise Hoplite .

Awesome! +1what about Ordeal of Heliod ? benefits from Hero of Iroas , has life gain and builds up counters.

Ordeal of Heliod is good, but it favor Mortal's Ardor for lifegain and get more use out of its combatricks. Ordeal of Thassa however is a great card for this deck but im trying to stay away from as many enchantments as this used to have.

Hero of Iroas hardly makes 30% easier to cast. He only lowers the colorless cost of Aura spells. There is no bestow (which gets reduced too for turning into aura) and the only aura with colorless is Stratus Walk. I think Akroan Skyguard is better. Even though it's only 1/1, it has innate evasion.
Maybe Artisan of Forms might me interesting too, you could basically have 8x Favored Hoplite with it, and the hoplite's heroic is crazy good especially around this CMC. blue could be hard to cast though.

Oh that was from an older iteration of the deck, i just haven't updated the description of him
September 28, 2014 8:09 p.m.
I would drop down to like 18 lands i run 19 in my deck which has 6 3 drops and i still get mana flooded, if it's in your price range Launch the Fleet would be awesome and maybe add in Battlefield Thaumaturge I dont think they're too expensive for a budget deck hope this helped

Hero of Iroas 's first ability really only comes in handy with Stratus Walk . Have you considered using a different heroic creature, or using Ordeal of Heliod or Ordeal of Thassa in place of some of the instant/sorceries? The first thing I would switch out for it is Mortal's Ardor . With that change, I'm thinking of taking this to my local FNM. W/U seems like an interesting aggro shell with some of the Khans stuff.

Cut a Feat of Resistance and a land for 2 Akroan Skyguard

Neat! I wanted to do pretty much the same deck, but that would require unmaking my current Triumphant Heroes. Sad pouty face.
I would recommend mainboarding a little lifegain, either your Mortal's Ardor or your Ordeal of Heliod (I personnaly prefer the ordeal, but I can understand why you might like Ardor better).
Finally, have you tried swapping 2 Lagonna-Band Trailblazer for 2 Battlewise Hoplite ? I think some variety could be good here.
Definite +1 from me! And let me know how you fare at FNMs and Game Days.

What would you recommend swapping out Ordeal of Heliod with, lightcarrier? Also, i like your Triumphant Heroes deck!

I think 12 protection spells is slightly over-the-top; 9 would be sufficient. So you could cut a little there, and add your fourth Ordeal of Thassa back (card drawing is crucial for this deck).
Glad you liked my Triumphant Heroes! You know what? I decided to unmake it for today's Game Day. I went back to my usual W/U, which is very close to what you have here: Heroes of Enlightenment - 4th at Game Day
And I had a blast.Still not perfect, but pretty enjoyable and often lethal.

I found your suggestions very helpful. The lifegain helped me ALOT in my new meta (I moved) and it helped me beat aggro. Thanks Ordeal of Heliod . And yes while 9 usually is just fine i like the redundancy of 12, especially for the "protection from" clause in Gods Willing and Feat of Resistance . I just don't like my creature getting toasted at all. I'm going to try Seeker of the Way for some more reliable lifegain, and Battle Mastery because i feel like double strike is needed sorely here.

Great, you managed to put 2x Battle Mastery ? I wanted to do the same but always ended up removing them for other cards. Not sure where I could cut to put Mastery back in.
Something I learned with my deck that will apply to yours as well: with as little as 12-13 creatures, mulligan can happen often so as to get at least 1 creature in your opening hand. But that's usually not a problem. The problem is when you opponent starts out with a swamp and Despise or Thoughtseize your only creature. That will put you behind for quite a while unless you draw your next creature right away (I didn't have that much luck yet).
We'll have to come up with something to get around that problem. Sideboarding more creatures (like your 4x Lagonna-Band Trailblazer ) is a good start, I think.
Keep me posted on how your version fares!

Chase_M155 is right on this. If at some point, you feel that you could benefit from even more card drawing, Defiant Strike is the way to go.
The +1/+0 is useful only when your creature is unblocked and you still have something to protect it after. But the way I play it most often is this: I finish my turn with just enough mana to protect my creature with some Gods Willing or Feat of Resistance or whatnot. On his turn, the opponent taps out by playing creatures and stuff. When I know that there'll be no threat for my creature this turn, I can make good use of my untapped land and play Defiant Strike. +1/+0? Whatever. All I want is a permanent +1/+1 counter and, above all else, draw a card. :)

I had 3 copies of Defiant Strike in earlier, and its a good card, i agree. I felt like i had enough card draw and scry to get the cards I wanted. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hey I have a very similar deck to yours if u want to check it out. I love ur deck its great. I personally hate crackling doom because it sacrifices instead of targeting gods willing and feat of resistance can't stop it :(

Seems to me like you don't need Hero of Iroas as you do not have any auras
