Hey guys! so this is your traditional dredge deck with a splash of blue. This deck is very hard to play you have so many options. I was gold fishing this deck and it was hard and I made a lot mistakes until I got the full understanding of how this deck works. This deck can really take a tournaments by surprise if there is no hate for it.
Why blue over red? Blue has Hedron crab which I think is better then faithless looting because it is a continuous dredge, while faithless looting only puts two cards in the graveyard but you get to pick. And in this deck dredging is basically drawing. Another reason why I like blue is because of Glimpse the unthinkable. This card helps us start our dredging I am currently trying to figure out if it is better then grisly salvage. The biggest thing red has that Blue doesn't is lightning bolt. Although bolt is insane abrupt decay fills that spot pretty well and Darkblast sideboard fits the theme better because u can dredge off it. (cute trick with Darkblast is you can cast it on your upkeep then dredge it and cast it again to kill a x/2 creature)
Creatures: So are creatures are okay by themselves but because they can keep coming from the dead makes them so relentless.
Gravecrawler: a 2/1 that can keep coming back what else would u want. He's aggressive and late game its nice to play him for extra mana to trigger vengvines ability.
Bloodsoaked champion: the newest addition to the deck and I think he's better then gravecrawler because if you count our zombies we only have 8 (9 if you count mutavault) which can make that very awkward. and plus were always attacking with our creatures anyways. And if you have nothing to do and attack with bloodsoaked champion he can trigger his own raid.
Hedron crab: a great way to mill yourself and if you have to your opponent to death! Remember even though he's a 0/2 he can still attack to trigger bloodsoaked champions raid ability
Bloodghast: a great creature that never dies. Fits well with Hedron crab because of the similar landfall triggers. he's self explanatory
Lotleth troll: very aggressive creature that is hard to kill! he cant be recurred but he helps get your creatures from your hand into the graveyard while pumping him up.
Golgari thug: Not very aggressive but we use him for his dredge ability and when you have lotleth troll on the battlefield with this in your hand its a great combo by discarding and then dredging on upkeep. he can also bring back our non-recurring creatures if necessary.
Vengevine: The beast of the deck. He is our real win condition and is very hard to deal with. Very easy to put multiple of these on the field at once and swing for game! obvious 4 of.
Glimpse the unthinkable: This card can start our dredge ability. Also it kind of is like draw 10 cards. seems a lot better then treasure cruise! This card although doesn't technically net any cards but it lets us take out a big chunk of our deck.
Life from the loam/raven's crime: Raven's crime is amazing! make them discard their whole hand. the thing is once we have dredged a ton and we have a board. we have a lot of tricks with life from the loam to kind of make us a control deck.
Land: The mana base is pretty easy. Dredge lands are nice whenever we need lands and there in our graveyard, 8 Fetches are necessary to use our landfall triggers to the fullest potential. Lastly Mutavault are nice because I can attack with it. If it dies I can bring it back. Also Mutavault lets me trigger gravecrawler. Also I can return tech edge to keep a control deck on only 4 lands.
Sideboard: When your against a person that you know has hate for your deck: Bring in packrat automatically the reason is because although these guys use the graveyard they don't need the graveyard to be good. But if my graveyard is exiled pack rat can still just win.
Against agro:Bring in gnaw to the bone its a common from innistrad that kicks so much but. Even if you dredge it away it has flashback!
The other slots are kind of up to you discard is still somewhat good right now and are just safe sideboard options
please +1 and comment
