Crypt Ghast is not illegal bkimpland, the white part is in the reminder text, not the rules text. Only Rules text determines color identity.

Oh, you're right, Saul.. I hadn't even researched extort when it came out in regards to EDH and just assumed that as a given. I have not been playing enough EDH this past year apparently!

I looked into Death Wish , actually, and it doesn't work as it used to. Because commanders are now in the command zone, Death Wish can only grab cards from the sideboard (which I'm not running). As for Bubbling Muck , I think that that is definitely an auto-include. Thanks for the suggestion :)

Wow, yea, i guess i'm really out of touch with EDH. Used to be my bread and butter until i got into Modern. Time for another with up!

Very nice. However, as someone who regularly plays against Roon of the Hidden Realm , and with Triad of Fates , I would say that you need a couple of no-fuss sack outlets to prevent the flash/lose combo, because right now Roon + Boomerang basically loses you the game every time. It would also help with the old Control Magic and suchlike.

Maybe something simple like Viscera Seer , but for greater flexibility without the re-usability, Sudden Death (not strictly a sack outlet but you get the idea) seems like a great fit.

You could take out the always good but less in-theme Sanguine Bond ?

limitsoflogic : That situation doesn't come up often in my playgroup, but it is certainly something I should look out for. If/when I implement a sideboard, I'll certainly include those. Thanks for the suggestions.

magiceli : Graveborn Muse alone is Phyrexian Arena on a Hill Giant . An extra card for a life each turn is pretty useful. I also have one sitting around that doesn't have a place, and a monoblack deck where I need to hit specific cards seems like a decent enough spot. Once I build a zombie tribal, she'll probably get moved over there.

limitsoflogic: I realized I didn't have a Whispersilk Cloak , so I'm going to throw that in over Prowler's Helm . Sleeper's Guile seems great, but with the amount of tutoring I threw in, I'm not sure if I need more evasion than the 4-5 I have. Maybe'd for now, and once I get deeper into playtesting, I'll see if I need it or not.

In mono black decks Mogis's Marauder is a great card especially if Phage the Untouchable is out already then that should be the game.

TheCleanestofShips: I feel that I have enough evasion, and a one-time ETB with conditional evasion doesn't really do what I want for this deck. Thanks for the input though.

With that roon thing you can just have your commander go to the command zone instead of exile

With Platinum Angel on the field you can safely cast phage.

Sending your commander to the command zone is a replacement effect and changes further effects on itMuch like if you put oblivion ring on a commander they put it in the command zone, then the ring leaves play, nothing happens
