Hey Chawltn, have a little fun once and a while. I play competitive Modern, i pilot both a Tron deck and a G/W Wilt-Leaf Liege deck which i value very much and the main reason i play magic is because of the competitive aspect. But that doesn't mean i don't have fun... Magic is for all people of all shapes and sizes and to bring humour into the game can arguably be what bring us all together!
Also thanks Figag i agree with everything you said in your response statement :D

I don't think this deck can support the current meta... maybe you could mainboard a mountain? try a swamp... maybe just maybe an evolving wilds to fix the mana problems.

rockergage sadly none of those suggestions add to the deck... Nothing is worse than taking away an island!

Storm Crow would make a good Commander for this Pauper, tiny leaders, face up, 60 card limit, competitive, FNM Ready deck

Sgreenden don't be silly... nothing can replace Island. If you wanted a commander it would have to be an Island

I know it's a bit tricky, but Oboro, Palace in the Clouds could be a great splash to isle tribal

smackder that's why I talk about splashing it, but I know it can break the combo way.

So, lands are colorless, the mono-blue hub might be better off as something else, maybe theme/gimmick, I've used that hub a lot myself.

I'm afraid to say, this deck is no longer a gimmick deck: Islands is a major archetype at my L.G.S. which doesn't fare well for it. There's always too much power on the board, and some people are too stubborn to concede before it's too late. I can hear the explosions from the top floor D;

QuantumTCG Shh don't tell the pros!
Behgz Don't question what an Island is or isn't ;)
alex105008 This was the biggest problem i was thinking about when i first released the deck, if it catches on too much the whole meta will just be flooded with Island decks, hope wizards doesn't ban Island's any time soon...

Honestly part of me wishes Wizards of the coast would ban Island. Let's be honest here any deck with blue in it is mean, but this deck is vicious. If I ever played against this deck I literally, not figuratively, might cry.

And then I, the Island player, would put your tears on my side of the table increasing my watery strength. YOUR CRYING IS MAKING MY DECK BETTER!!!!!!!!!!

Wait, isn't Magic supposed to be both a community and be fun? This deck has had 514 inputs of conversation which is a large gathering by any standards. This deck is highlighting and appreciating the more entertaining and comical areas of the game which make and keep the game fun. If you're a die-hard spike who has no interest in anything except winning the pro tour, then this isn't the area of the magic community for you. Tappedout has plenty of more serious decks trying to win a few FNMs and plenty of people very in touch with how to tune and modify a deck to be the best it can. It is very possible to make a competitive deck and get some attention and some fantastic feedback - you just have to know where to go and what to do. I know from my own personal experience.
Besides, if you REALLY want to laugh at how stupid people can be, just go read some youtube comments.
If you want to know why Islands is the top deck, it is because it is timeless and universal. By timeless, I mean that with most top decks, it's because they've found some sort of cool interaction and are playing with it for the first time. These synergies are rarely 'new' for long. Other top decks are top decks because of the current meta, which is constantly changing, meaning they go out of style very fast. This deck is also universal, meaning every player in the game from any format can connect with it. It's not something that only standard players can appreciate and want to upvote.
So please calm down, sit back, and smile a little at this deck - it is second (and soon to be first) for a very good reason.
