If Westvale Abbey is something you are planning on using in the deck, then I would reccomend a look at the two 1 drop vamps, Insolent Neonate and Falkenrath Gorger.

Failing getting Westvale to flip, Gorger makes Call the Bloodline and Heir better, because now you can discard any of your creatures to fuel them and still cast them. Neonate simply shrinks your deck.

Also, Lightning Axe is amazing removal and is another madness enabler.

AverageBoss Abbey is there for the grind games. In other words if I don't win by turn 5-6 which this deck should be able to do seeing how I will move fast. I can sac 5 to flip Abbey and well if that don't win the game I am just up s&* creek. My only problem with Abbey is and bounce effect ruins it and with Just the Wind being a thing it makes it hard to use it as main goal of the deck.

I like most of the cards in this deck, why not try to fit in Olivia, Mobilized for War?

Really interesting! I willd probably reuse this list and shuffle around some cards.

megalewis I just feel that Olivia, Mobilized for War is just a little worst than Drana, Liberator of Malakir I say this because Olivia gives a +1/+1 and haste till end of turn ( though I might have misread the +1/+1 part.) after you discard. Which if you go looking in my deck I got 15-16 discard outlets already lol. Now once the second part of SoI comes out and Drana falls out of the deck Olivia is coming in for sure. Which also means more madness cards to look at :D.

right-on! another enabler for the MADNESS!!! I love it

Olivia, Mobilized for War provides +1/+1 counters, so it permanently buffs the creature.

Why can't you have Drana, Liberator of Malakir and Olivia? Possibly removing Twins of Maurer Estate.

Ryjo the reason I have Twins of Maurer Estate is it's another madness target and it has the Gurmag Angler role of this deck. It will trade with most 3-4 drops and just eat all 2 drops.

As for Olivia I think if I can get the mana to work right I can go delver style and cut down to 19-18 lands.

First off, I love this deck, and I'm trying to work on a vamp deck myself. What I've found from playtesting though, is the Westvale Abbey  Flip isn't really doing much, the deck is too aggro for a card like that, and the other non-basics practically require basics, either in hand or on the field, to be very useful. I'd say swap out the westvales for 3 more basics.

sgt.zephyr Thanks man :D I am glad you like it :D make sure to link your idea of the vamp deck here so we can take a look at yours :D.

I forgot to mention, Asylum Visitor should probably be in the list?

Hideousgamer says... #12

megalewis As for Asylum Visitor I am not sure. I mean ya I can get my hand out so it will hit for my upkeep. But overall I would need to make my deck have a lot of hand attack to hit on both upkeeps. Then once you go though all this what did you really get ??? not much. Some card advantage which sure is great that in itself can win games for ya. But so far from what I have seen the SCG builds for vamps are going down the wrong road they're making it to water down.

What I am going for is die die in a fire type deck race to the win. Sure that also means I may lose more games then need be. But when I can kill on turn 5 with 4 out 6 draws you better have answers ready.

I really like how the deck is so far! I had one question, what about Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet? I would like to hear your opinion on this card.

Hideousgamer says... #14

marty300 Before I ever put this deck together Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet was an auto-include. I mean he is power house he really is. But the more I thought about it and the more I saw the cards coming in from SoI I saw what the Vampires wanted attack now think later. Which if that is the case you want to go with the modern burn numbers aka 3 dmg. on one 6 on two etc etc.So now that we know what are goal is be an fast beat down how do we go about it how do we get that turn 4-5 win. So in short Kalitas is a great card but he fits in better with slower more control deck. Where I see him is a / abbey tokens deck or maybe a / abbey tokens deck. Something slower and controlling the game and win via Westvale Abbey  Flip

Thats a very good point. Maybe he could be in sideboard? Do you already have some plans for a sideboard yourself? I also see some decks running Kolaghan's Command. Why didn't you chose for that card? Just curious. Thank you for replying.

April 1, 2016 3:25 p.m.

Hideousgamer says... #16

marty As for Kolaghan's Command is just SB. I mean the discard on it can only hit yourself now because of madness. Avacyn's Judgment is stronger then Kolaghan's Command 2 damage because Avacyn's can hit more then one thing and you can madness it into a Rolling Thunder. The recursion on Kolaghan's is still top tier but ya not enough to make me want to play it.

Ok man, how about Alms of the Vein ?

Also Stensia Masquerade seems very nice..

Hideousgamer says... #19

alljustdoit As for Alms of the Vein and Stensia Masquerade No real reason per say I mean I could drop Tormenting Voice for Alms which helps with having more burn. But I like the draw that Voice gives. Masquerade is a SB card most likely which it would come in against other fast decks or against Eldrazi to help close the gap with power/toughens

How do you feel about Olivia's Bloodsworn in the deck?
Also what about Structural Distortion in the side for the Westvale Abbey  Flip deck's?
Sideboard also want Fiery Impulse for other aggro decks?

i dont have any drana and dont want to dorp 45$, any replacement suggestions

April 10, 2016 1:59 a.m.

Hideousgamer says... #22

dherridge Best thing to do if you can't/don't want to get Drana would be use Indulgent Aristocrat not the best but you can attack wait for blocks sac him and buff the team that way.

HOBONOMO My thoughts on Olivia's Bloodsworn is that she is slow. You play two mana on turn two great; then to get the most use out of her you tie up one red per turn. Which in the end ain't a lot of mana but when you're trying to win the game on turn 4-5 it can slow you down.

Hey again, I was just thinking, what about Skin Invasion  Flip as a side? It seems to fit with the tempo, and it can be used a great removal as well as a 3/4 that activates Olivia, all for 1 red.

April 11, 2016 9:20 a.m.

Hideousgamer says... #24

sgt.zephyr Skin Invasion  Flip is a great SB card. You toss it on mana dorks or Falkenrath Gorger that is against you to turn off their madness.

3x Twins of Maurer Estate - really? come on boy... here is a good build and you ruin it with this piece of .... - you do not event have that much discard outlets that can help playing it, and it does not have any abilities. It is a common for a reason. Put in 3x Asylum Visitor instead, no need to talk about it. That card is great, has madness too, or you can play it for it's CMC too. Also punishes opponent for an empty hand and lets you draw card one you discarded everything. That card should be the first pick for this deck. It is also a solid body, can hit for a lot of damage.
