Sideboard

Maybeboard

One of my all time favourite standard decks from when Tarkir block was in standard moved to modern. The objective here is to stack as many counters on guys as possible and swing in for victory.

Avatar of the Resolute

Managorger Hydra

Warden of the First Tree

Servant of the Scale

Rubblebelt Raiders

Servant is a good turn 2 option if we have Hardened Scales in hand, and if you dont then it makes a great turn one since when it dies you can move the +1/+1 counters from him to another creature and pump them up! Managorger is just a straight win con, and hard to deal with since things like Dismember make him stronger and able to withstand it. Warden can pump himself with some extra mana, and scales will make his 3rd ability even better for swinging in for the win. If you have creatures set up then Avatar and Raiders will complement them well with Avatar dealing with pesky fliers and raiders getting bigger with every creature swinging.

Path to Exile

Gyre Sage

Hardened Scales

Nissa, Voice of Zendikar

If this deck is a fire then Scales is a dry forest covered in gasoline. It ramps our creatures hard, making ever single counter two counters instead! Path is just standard removal for creature that threatens our board state. Nissa will generate tokens for chump blockers, but can also put +1/+1 counters on all of our creatures which with all 4 hardened scales out gives us 5 +1/+1 counters on each creature in the best scenario. Gyre Sage just helps with mana. The real all star is Dromoka's Command this card is enchantment removal, creature removal, pump, and gives your creatures protection! A real winner for only cmc two in my book.

Feat of Resistance

Heroic Intervention

Mistcutter Hydra

Prowling Serpopard

Rest in Peace

Stony Silence

Intervention is the anti-boradwipe card that will save a good board state from things like Damnation and Wrath of God. In a pinch it can also stop a Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile, although I think Feat of Resistance is a better single target stopper here. The rest of these are hate cards with Rest in Peace stopping graveyard shenanigans, Stony Silence putting an end to artifact trickery with Creeping Corrosion to just get rid of them. Mistcutter Hydra and Prowling Serpopard will give you an edge against any control match up that you might be missing.

Mana Tithe

Rebuff the Wicked

Bramblewood Paragon

These will really depend on your meta and what your opponents are playing at your LGS. If you are running into someone that is running a wienie deck with a lot of chump blockers then you can use Bramblewood Paragon to trample right over them. Someone running an AEther Snap? Take it out with Mana Tithe. Enchantment decks are not a problem with Back to Nature and Rebuff the Wicked will help with any single target trickery.

Thank you for taking the time to look at the deck!
