The name of the game is to dragons, because dragons. And dragons. Did I mention dragons?
Let's talk strategems.
Ramp up with yer mana creatures, draw with some stuff, and kill them with fire. Lots of fire. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk cards. The glorious cards.
Not Creatures: Soul's Fire takes care of or softens up a blocker or player before combat. Shamanic Revelation gets you lots of draw and life, especially with a couple mana dorks and three or four dragons. Oh, you have eight creatures? Discard a land or put down the mana to put everything down next turn. Sarkhan's Triumph is, of course, dragons. Need one of your combo dragons? You got it. Need some double strike? Dragon protection? No problem. Or you can use Signal the Clans to get mana creatures or a wild-card dragon.
CREATURES: Birds of Paradise: turn one manafix. Sakura-Tribe Elder: manafix and deck thinning. (More likely to draw not land.) Somberwald Sage: If you only got a Bird, two lands, and this, you're set. Turn three, drop any six-and-below-drop lizard. Any questions? Shaman of the Great Hunt is great because your dragons get bigger and you get more dragons with your dragons.
DRAGONS! Thunderbreak Regent gets you protection for your dragons. It gets even better with multiple out at once. Thundermaw Hellkite: No more blockers (be quiet, reach) and is hasty on its own. And the 5/5 hasty flier for 5 is fantastic. Savage Ventmaw: Just look at it. Six free mana! Possibly every turn! Getting to six mana now means immediately another dragon or twelve mana next turn!! Hellkitee Charger: It's great to have haste on-site and the combat, but wait till you see the combo. Dragonlord Atarka: I just can't take it out. It's so over the top! 8/8 flying trampling better---Arc Lightning]] all for SEVEN!! Too much value to let go of! Atarka, World Render: And finally, 28% of the reason this deck exists, the finale of your assaults: double strike for everyone. Oh, and trample, and 12 damage on its own.
The Combo: A hilarious combo is Hellkite Charger and Savage Ventmaw. An extra combat phase only costs 1! Even if they run into a big blocker, it likely won't survive a few more attacks. If you have five land/creature mana available, well, I guess you get five extra combat phases! Because why not!
The real fun begins when you have two Ventmaws and Charger. Actually infinite combats and mana. And with Shaman of the Great Hunt, draw ALL your cards! Get all the dragons and put'em down on second main phase!! GIVE NOW
Sideboard: If one day you decide to be a little nicer to your friends/they can't really deal with your combats, you can mosey on over to the sideboard and swap out two Ventmaws and two Chargers for some less consistent but still knee-knocking dragons. You won't get infinite combats all the time, but there's still some artllery here. Balefire Dragon will force the opponent to either take 6 or let the majority of theri creatures perish in FIRE. Ryusei, the Falling Star takes kills everything in FIRE except your dragons and their opponent-controlled contenders. So just fling him into the wall every turn and the opponent will take 5 each turn or watch his landlubbers die in FIRE. Utvara Hellkite is such a great dragons, especially getting more Dragon Tempest triggers and, y'know, more dragons. Which means FIRE. With Moonveil Dragon you can take advantage of extra mana to kill more with Balefire and generally kill even more more with double strikers.
I really wanted to include Sarkhan Unbroken (card draw+mana, dragons, and ALL the dragons!!), but man, $20 per card?
All suggestions are appreciated. Less money I have to spend is also appreciated.
