I really like Bob because of how much he does, even if it does end up hurting me a lot. Bob definitely gets sideboarded out against a number of decks, but he's powerful. Greatness at any cost.
Tasigur is definitely not optimal in this deck. He still comes down for 1 quite a bit in my initial playtesting, but he's not that great at getting there -- I like the Demigod quite a bit in comparison, particularly the all-hybrid cost.

What is Blood Knight for? Would you be better off playing Phyrexian Arena over Bob / Faithless Looting?
I do think you're onto something here with the deck idea. I've played against Blood Moon and have had difficulty moving forward after it resolved.
May 29, 2015 3:35 p.m.
Blood Knight is a pretty weird choice, and I'd be very happy to find a replacement for it. It's mostly just a first-striking body that can be easily cast off of my lands after resolving a Blood Moon, but it's also got pro-white which is nice for avoiding Paths. Definitely the most replaceable part of the deck.
Phyrexian Arena is more mana intensive and comes down a turn later. Considering that most of the deck is 3 cost or less I'd rather Bob than Arena, and Faithless Looting is nice for getting ride of extra lands or spare Blood Moons, and can also be flashed back, which is a nice mana sink for the mid to late game.

If you want some ideas, I just finish building this deck in paper and its been performing great at my shop. However, its a mono-red build.
Maybe a good replacement for Blood Knight is Eidolon of the Great Revel.

I like the thought of Eidolon, but it scares me a little bit, to be honest. I could definitely see it working better if this were more burn oriented, but considering that I don't really get a win off until I hit the Demigod, and considering how all the rest of my spells are 3 or less, I dunno that he'd fit in here too well. I'll probably play test him a bit, nonetheless.

If you're gonna run Demigod of Revenge, run all 4. There are stronger 4+ CMC creatures to use as finishers (Stormbreath Dragon and Phyrexian Obliterator being the first ones that come to mind); what makes Demigod worth playing (besides being cheaper than those cards I mentioned, money-wise) is the ability to play multiples at the same time. Running less than a playset kinda defeats the purpose.
Faithless Looting is fine as your main discard engine, but consider a second option (is Liliana of the Veil within your budget?)
I have to agree with the others that Dark Confidant is too dangerous in this sort of build. Low land count, lots of 3-drops, Thoughtseize, Demigod of Revenge, no lifegain... this seems like a disaster waiting to happen. You could actially get down to 10 life on turn 3 without your opponent doing anything at all! And please, for the love of all Theros gods, do not run Eidolon of the Great Revel in the same build as Bob. Unless you move those Dragon's Claws to the main, which I don't think is a good idea. Phyrexian Arena's life loss is more manageable and you can get it out by turn 2 with the help of Simian Spirit Guide. And it's much harder to get rid of.

I second the idea of playing the Phyrexian Arena.
I would also suggest putting some Blood Crypts even for even better mana fixing. Also, you could play with Bloodghast since you can discard with Faithless Looting.
Now, if you take this route, 4 Bloodghasts and 4 Demigod of Revenge could be very well used alonside with Liliana of the Veil.

You and square711 beat me to it. Great minds think alike.

Lilis are definitely a possibility. I'm not entirely sure what I'd cut.
I definitely agree that it feels like a lot of life loss. I've swapped to Phyrexian Arena, even though double black is a little rough right now. Might add in another swamp to try and balance it out.

I really like the Blood Crypt idea, Tomazinhal, as well as the Bloodghast. I'll do some testing.

I'd cut Kolaghan's Command because this isn't exactly an attrition strategy like jund, so the 2 for 1 isn't as impressive(though maybe sb material. I duno I'm keeping onto my copy incase it becomes a staple)
1 Terminate. As much as I like to advocate for 4 because it's insane, we have the discard suite to take their threats. (Which we can use on ourself if nobody said, although turn 1 Thoughtseizeing yourself is definitely not my recommendation haha)
But at the same time we need a lot of removal, hard decisions. Consider one Bloodghast because after all he's pretty small,
Cool deck +1

Rinne, would you put those in over Extraction? I'm personally a fan of the interaction between hand hate and Surgical Extraction, but I could see the value in changing it from a two card BB thing to a one card 2BR thing.

Great deck!
What image is that for the featured card? It matches the deck theme perfectly. Nicely done with the deck though. It plays really well.

Damn man, this looks so solid! I want to test this, if I do, I'll be sure to post something! Thanks for taking my opinions into consideration! Cheers mate! Much love!

Thanks for sharing your opinions! I'll make sure to update here with the results of my testing as well.

Sorry for the late response. I'm not much of a Modern player myself, but from my friends' comments playing the Games, it's an absolute house as a sideboard card. However, I wouldn't consider it mainboard material because of the high CMC. If you want to maindeck graveyard hate, I'd suggest sticking with the Extractions and put a copy or two of Slaughter Games in the side. Just my $0.02, though.

In metas where people have lots of nonbasic lands, 4x Blood Moon main board wins games. So far placed second and first in my last two tournaments with my deck. This kind of deck is strong right now because of all the 3 color decks going on.

Hopefully he got them before the one of many buyouts. After 'modern' season dies down and our big modern tournaments coming up are gone (the reason certain individual's/stores bought out cards to make a profit from people needing them) the price should drop. Other have said elsewhere so I'm basically just saying what they said, it's been printed 5 times and is usually a sb card

Tasigur seems dead in this deck other than being a beatstick. Demigod of Revenge is a perfect replacement along with and getting rid of bob because of the high cmc.
