Agreed with your change, taking out Door; doesn't seem necessary.
If you want to go more towards the infinite mana combo win, try Sword of the Paruns and Karametra's Acolyte because they both offer redundancy there!
Creeping Renaissance is pretty good. Aluren is a LOT of fun. Beast Within and Squall Line are both very useful for getting around Moat type effects including Glacial Chasm. That's also why I run one Ghost Quarter.
I tried to make my own list more aggressive mana-curve-wise, adding all the one-drop mana elves including Birchlore Rangers and Boreal Druid, as well as some aggressive elves like Skyshroud Elite and Wren's Run Vanquisher.
My reasoning around deckbuilding is to keep the majority of my elves under 4 mana and keep my wincons at 4+ mana, which include a lot of mana-doubling effects. This build makes it easier to come back from being boardwiped, makes it easier to hit 4 elves in one turn to get infinite mana with Priest of Titania + Umbral Mantle, makes it easy to have some straight aggressive hands that can win early without tricks, and makes the most out of Aluren.
I am missing some cards like Chord of Calling from my list because I don't have 'em, but here it is in case you wanted to check it out: Aluring Elves
I've taken out a lot of higher drops for this purpose, like Elvish Promenade, Masked Admirers, Oracle of Mul Daya and Nullmage Shepherd so I don't get clunky hands and always have things to do early on.

I'm not a huge fan of Ambush Commander I know he provides a huge boost to your field presence and attributes largely to the elf count but I feel that he leaves you wide open to a Wrath of God which you wont recover from fast enough.
July 17, 2016 2:36 a.m.
lazarusdraigon Thanks for the advice! You definitely aren't the first person to tell me that, but I've been moving towards cheaper CMC to help with board wipes anyway, so replacing him at a 5 cost will do double duty. I've only had a small amount of success with him anyway. He isn't really a linchpin to my strategy, so I'm not going to be sentimental seeing him go.

Deck Tech Update: Removed Nettle Sentinel for Dwynen's Elite and Ambush Commander for Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen

Good choice, it's important to try to boost your elves as much as possible so that you can still be competitive late in the game, especially with commander. Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen will also boost your life. Good luck!

Tell me I'm crazy for taking out Doubling Season, but I don't have enough counters and tokens to have it make sense. Ezuri, Renegade Leader also doesn't deal with that stuff directly, but if you disagree, please let me know...
P.S. I brought in Fog from the sideboard to replace it. I've got a batch of cards coming in the mail so it might not stay long, but it's a very cheap utility traded for a big enchantment.

I think that you should wait until the cards come, but Doubling Season and Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury, Dwynen's Elite, Garruk Wildspeaker, or some of the other token cards in this deck would be a good combo.

How about Sylvan Advocate. Even without the +2/+2, it is still a 2/3 elf for 1 and a Gr.
July 29, 2016 10:35 p.m.
Yeah... snotice, I hear you, it might be good value for the mana, but after I took out Ambush Commander putting Sylvan Advocate in really just seemed like extra fluff. My deck might be one of the less creature heavy decks of this genre, but so far the streamlined strategy seems to be working. I appreciate the help though.

Deck tech update: Just added a few anti-boardwipe cards after playing a free for all with my brother and his friends and just got board wiped quite frequently... I still won that game, but that's beside the point :] Those cards were Soul of New Phyrexia, Creeping Renaissance, and Praetor's Counsel.
Next up, I added Song of the Dryads and Lignify as an entry into the world of removal. Only time will tell, how useful these offensive measures will be. And speaking of offense, I added Druids' Repository to encourage more aggro behaviors with the deck.
Next, was the addition of Hall of Triumph because too many times did I find myself boosting the enemy with Coat of Arms. That was a straight trade.
Shamanic Revelation should round the deck out nicely enough with card draw. If I have enough mana to play this after just one Ezuri boost then I would easily meet ferocious and gain a crap ton of life too. 1c mana cheaper with the bonus of this life gain over Collective Unconscious. I often see both in similar decks, but I figured if I were to have one it would have to be the better version.
Now... Taking out Vigor, Omnath, Locus of Mana, Elvish Guidance, Doubling Cube, and Vernal Bloom were not easy decisions, and I might be wrong, so feel free to give me reasons why I shouldn't have taken them out. And, of course, any more suggestions you can think of. I just can't keep cards in my deck solely on the basis of how much they're worth. If it doesn't fit the strategy sufficiently, then it's gotta go...
On a less controversial note, I replaced the old Timberwatch Elf with the new Eternal Masters version for the sake of beauty...

you need more draw card effects, i dont know of any good for your deck other than harmonize, also i'd remove rings of brighthearth
August 2, 2016 2:35 a.m.
i take back my comment theres plenty of card draw, i just didnt notice while test playing at first
August 2, 2016 2:39 a.m.
i feel like it doesnt have much of a use in your deck unless your using it with a combo, i test played the deck 10+ times and thats the only card i dont use much if at all,
August 2, 2016 2:51 a.m.
Dk1997, I admire how thoroughly you tested my deck. I think you're right as well. It's got some utility, but Elvish Guidance has a lot more uses in the deck than Rings of Brighthearth does. So if anything they deserve to be traded. I find it so funny how my deck value is just plummeting... But I must stay vigilant and ignore card prices and think about utility of use instead.
August 2, 2016 10:40 a.m.
Dk1997 I talked about Door of Destinies in a previous comment. After reading it, tell me in greater detail why you think it would add to the strategy.
I kinda have a side strategy based around untapping with Seedborn Muse for more mana and that led me to add Yeva, Nature's Herald back in (if anything, temporarily).
August 8, 2016 1:47 p.m.
Deck tech update: I've removed Gaea's Anthem and Hall of Triumph for Vigor and Yeva, Nature's Herald. I'm not too worried about the mana spread because of the nature of the deck, but this change should increase the aggro in the deck. While the boost was nice it just didn't serve the strategy well enough. I think in my mind it was more for defense against damage board wipes than dealing the opponent slightly more damage. I believe it was a good choice.
Also, I'm fiddling with the land count at the moment, does anyone have recommendations for that? While you're looking at lands, take a glance at the non-basic too.
August 8, 2016 2:09 p.m.
Just traded Obelisk of Urd for Mind's Eye. I guess my stance in the last comment led me to think that even this convoking +2/+2 artifact doesn't belong in the deck.
Also, still testing Lignify and Praetor's Counsel to see how it works against my friends' decks because they can be a little situational. I can also add Creeping Renaissance to get additional board wipe.
Side note (and I may have already said this) my deck value is dropping so fast with a greater focus on strategy. Such a weird feeling. Expensive cards don't always help...
August 8, 2016 3:26 p.m.
Very true about the nature of expensive cards in this deck!
Just take out all of the tap lands. I had those same ones in my deck before, and after deciding to be ruthless about it I cut them all and it's much cleaner. It's simply too greedy to run tap lands when you're trying to shave off as many lands as possible; and there has only been one game I can recall that cycling a land significantly helped. Many other mulligan'd hands or dead topdecks to the taplands.
But I LOVE running Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. You should look into a copy.
August 8, 2016 4:23 p.m.
abby315 I hear you and I'll try that with the non-basics. And I was actually considering adding more lands because I've seen other decks with slightly less creatures and slightly more land than I'm running. And Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is at the top of my list, but of course Gaea's Cradle would be nice too ;P
I think that Nykthos is actually quite better than Doubling Cube which I took out because it didn't seem fast enough, so replacing a forest with that would be most agreeable.

Door of Destinies gets stronger every elf you play, 5 elves played and on the field equals 25 extra attack even if there just 1/1's
August 9, 2016 8:36 a.m.
i feel like Door of Destinies would work better than Eldrazi Monument mostly due to the fact you dont have alot of tokens in this deck and sacking a creature every turn seems to pricey
P4nd3m1c says... #1
Call me crazy, but I decided to take out Door of Destinies for Presence of Gond (the card that replaced DoD was less important than taking it out), but with cards like Green Sun's Zenith, Chord of Calling, Genesis Wave, and, most importantly, Skyshroud Poacher I found myself dropping elves onto the battlefield instead of playing them. In Commander it really only helps early to mid game and you still have to wait a few turns until you can start using it. My other boosts like Caged Sun, Gaea's Anthem, and Obelisk of Urd are much faster, and if I wanna keep calling this an 'aggro' deck than I really ought to speed things up...
Let me know what you people think about this.
