esper gifts deck

Squadron hawks are the core of the deck for blocking and initial deck slimming and populating the graveyard for jace, vryn's prodigy. Search for Azcanta is very strong in this deck (albeit there is only one copy), again for populating the graveyard and later for searching for gifts. Liliana of the veil is great for hand disruption, removal, and using her to drop Kozilek or squadron hawks into your graveyard to recycle. Fatal push works exceptionally well with the amount of fetch lands and sacrifice opportunities like elixir and squadron hawk blockers. Commit//memory to turn away seriously problematic threats and recycle the graveyard (after causing the opponent to suffer the past first, of course). Ideally your opening hand will have at least one squadron hawk and/or pieces of the recursion cycle. cast hawks and dig for the entire squad. Inquisition of Kozilek and thoughtseize your way through the first few rounds to start putting together the pieces. I typically use gifts ungiven to choose whatever relevant picks between Kozilek, elixir of immortality, sphinx's revelation, suffer the past, and a squadron hawk if I do not already have one. tossing Kozilek, of course, recycles the graveyard. as does keeping, and activation of, the elixir. esper charms are used to fill your hand, disrupt the opponent's hand, and help to remove issues with leylines and 8 rack combo enchantments. suffer the past to remove pesky win conditions and gain life after they hit the opponent's yard. Kozilek as a means to recycle the graveyard and pose a major threat/win condition as matches tend to go long with this deck. Torment of hailfire has been a surprise bomb that can easily board wipe and empty your opponents hand. Never//Return is a one shot removal of planeswalkers. Batterskull and leylines for matchups with burn and dredge decks.

The biggest issue is against Tron, where this needs help. Tron matchups thus far have seen sideboarding in path to handle the eldrazi's and using thoughtseize to tackle Karn and Ugin.
