The color blue and artifacts are my favorite things in magic, with graveyard based strategies being a close third. This is a deck that I'm working on building, which is currently lead by Nin, the Pain Artist due to card draw being generally good at the head of any deck. I wish there was an izzet daretti, as I love everything about him except being mono-red. Hopefully someday we'll get an izzet artifact reanimator.

Izzet allows us to leverage red's artifact recursion ( Daretti, Scrap Savant , Scrap Mastery , Goblin Welder ) and blue's artifact searching/cheating ( Tezzeret the Seeker , Muzzio, Visionary Architect , Master Transmuter , etc.) as it's base to get big artifact threats into play Blightsteel Colossus , Darksteel Forge , Wurmcoil Engine , etc.. It makes use of all the best mana rocks we can get and ways to untap them to make lots of mana to fuel this. Besides just beating people about the face with Blightsteel, we can setup the Forge+Disk combo to lock people out of having a board presence, drain them out with Psychosis Crawler and enough card draw. All of this is backed by counterspells to protect our board and/or say no, as blue so loves to do.

Currently Rings of Brighthearth , Staff of Domination and Paradox Engine are on the bench to reduce the power level of the deck and avoid infinite combos and/or super long turns.

Generally this deck wants to play mana rocks, put big artifacts into play, and refill with Nin.

The biggest challenge is balancing the amount of non-artifacts that either support the plan or are just good, with having the highest density of artifacts possible which this deck wants.
