Deck idea accredited to Sam Black.
The idea here is pretty straightforward. You want to play a mana creature into a turn two Jeskai Ascendancy. Then each non-creature spell you play untaps the mana creature and gives it +1/+1. That means that you can chain together cantrips that cost one to draw through your deck until you have a lethal attacker or can generate enough mana to cast a game winning spell out of the sideboard. The engine is held together by
Glittering Wish
to find answers to hate cards or to act as extra copies of Jeskai Ascendancy, and the suite of cantrips you get to play is just insane.
Cerulean Wisps
, Manamorphose, and Gitaxian Probe all generate more mana than they cost while stocking your graveyard for Treasure Cruise to help you get your creatures large enough to alpha strike or cantripping to find the wished Villainous Wealth/Flesh / Blood you're looking for.
Two things are immediately apparent about this deck. First, it's very powerful. Anything that can win on the second turn with such an innocuous combination of cards is going to be busted. It is a pretty consistent turn three kill and can win through multiple forms of hate on turns 5+.
The one weak spot is a combination of cheap mass creature removal, hard counters and enchantment removal. Even 2 of the 3 isn't enough, usually just slowing us down. Very powerful and very resistant.
what I've changed:
Tweaking the mana base
Added a Villainous Wealth and Flesh / Blood to the board as a wish targets. Wealth is probably too cute, fun for FNM but Flesh / Blood is by far the better finisher.
Also added some of the red wisps,
Crimson Wisps
, as they can give mana creatures haste, allowing them to generate mana and attack the turn you go off while still cantripping like the blue one.
Scarscale Ritual is another card I'm looking to add in the board, two mana draw two as a witch target.
Playtest and comment.
