I do HIGHLY recommend at least 2 copies of Aether Meltdown in the side board. It effectively acts as a removal spell vs any deck that's not running HUGE creatures. For example When i fought Mono Red it made ALL of there creatures other than Hazaret useless and hazaret turns into 1/4.Not very scary. DID I MENTION IT HAS FLASH. CAUSE IT HAS FLASH.

I did some more testing vs the green/red monsters deck and a vampire deck today and i made 2 major changes to my list1. Dropped the 2x Ceremonious Rejection for 2x Vizier of Many Faces2. drop an Unsummon and a spell swindle for 2x Tempest Djinn

@GamingInTheDark Interesting changes. Changing Ceremonious Rejection out for Vizier is probably a good idea. I have not tryed Tempest Djinn out yet though.

Also I was wondering does Aether Meltdown really work that well for you? Seems decent, but it seems like a bounce spell would do better, so that you have another chance to counter the spell.

Yes you COULD counter them, or you could just render them useless, to begin with. You use one spell not two to render a creature useless.

@Chiberia Excellent point. It does save a card but it also costs a turn to kill it with Torrential or Nezahal. And if its over 4 power it can continue to get damage in. It may be a good idea for sideboard. I will definetly consider it.

I think it would be more of a sideboard card to combat mono red aggro

The Aether Meltdown works very well vs creature based decks. It being a blocker against your hulks doesn't really matter at least in the games i played. When i got to play Tempest Djinn it alone could end the game easier and faster than a gearhulk. But i don't know how Tempest Djinn would work in your build cause of all the utility lands. It worked for me cause 4 of my lands are not islands. You on the other hand have 10 non-islands.

Also Search for Azcanta  Flip as a 2 of (in theory) would be SUPER good. The $15 dollar price tag is the only thing stopping me from getting it.

@GamingInTheDark I am considering Tempest Djinn. But I would have to change the build a little. And YES I really want to try out Search for Azcanta  Flip as a 2 of. If I can find a good opportunity to pick 1 or 2 up I'll definetly try it out.

What would be an "opportunity" for you? For me it would be when they dip below $10 which sad to say i don't see happening anytime soon.

@GamingInTheDark I'm hoping to see if I can trade for it. Or if my LGS has a couple of them

Why not play something like Metallurgic Summonings? it is probably the best win condition against a Carnage Tyrant. it could sometimes allow you to win against a mainboard Carnage Tyrant.

@Bennett_Stokes It's not a bad idea. I do like that card. The big problem is casting it, because it's sorcery speed. Once it's downfor a turn it's fantastic though. Sorcery speed are just scary to play in this deck.

mrmango I think your probably right, it is dangerous to play especially because mono blue does not have any great board wipes.
