I'm curious, have you ever played dragon age origins? Karn reminds me of a playable character in it.

Sanctum of ugin is great and i thought about playing it, but i dont really need to tutor a creature except a turn1 metalworker and that doesnt work ;)

...

i played like 3-5h dragon age and i never really got into it (because its single player i suppose; i prefer pen&paper; or mmo). but im interested in hat character. whats the name so i can read the lore <3

I created an account to say thanks for this deck list. I'm still new to Magic, but I knew I wanted to make a colorless deck. I built a version of this that left out a few of the more expensive cards, and had my first few games with it last night. I managed to win two of the three 4-player Free For All matches I played, and only lost the first due to my inexperience.

I subbed in Ugin's Nexus for one of the more expensive cards I chose not to buy. Someone chose to board wipe (except land) last night, forgetting I had Ugin's Nexus out. I still had a great mana base thanks to Scorched Ruins + a copied version w/Thespian's Stage, and a Deserted Temple. I was able to cast Akroma's Memorial and something else the first turn, then drew/casted/attacked with Kozilek the second. I managed to destroy everyone during my following turn thanks to the draw off of Kozliek. Definitely my favorite win of the evening.

Overall, this deck is a lot of fun and it is exactly what I was looking for.

Now that Barry's Land looks like it might be a real thing, what changes do you expect to make?

I run Karn myself, so I'm paying attention to what you do. Definitely need to run several basics, but I'm personally questioning the wisdom of running some of the standards, for instance Solemn Simulacrum. The deck already fits together pretty tightly, and I'm not sure there's enough potential for abuse in it.

yes you are right. i wouldnt play another creature in here just for 1 land and 1 draw. it was just meant as an example how barries land affects us. but i could imagine some1 buidling a massive copy and recursion deck with simulacrum as ramp and draw engine... but thats just not gonna be me ;)

when i look at barrys land i see something that would make me less attractive as a target for path, ghost quarter and similar effects. and in combination with that other spoiled card i can actually double the amount of instant spot removal in this deck /chucklesatownjoke

Sick deck. So many combos. I love how I can afford the combo pieces :)

This deck is so awesome! I watched some of your gameplay - so sweet! So many combos! Definitely +1 from me. If you have the time, could you look at my deck and give me any tips? The description is still very much a work in progress though. :/Artifacts Galore!

Hi,I was just wondering about the new basic "waste-lands" in the upcoming Oath of the Gatewatch as it appears they do produce colourless mana as the Zendikar Expedition filter land spoiled recently shows. What would you as the main player/ builder of this deck replace for these new basics if at all. Currently the lands i have surveyed as not that powerful are:

Cloudpost (too slow and not really worth it)

Glimmerpost (not very powerful as you can only gain a max of 2 life)

Haven of the Spirit Dragon (only builds up to 2 cards in the entire deck)

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (doesn't help fixing for you)

I would like to know if you agree/ disagree and what to add/ remove from my current list of cards to change for wastes when Oath is released. But still; good looking deck. +1

lets call them barrys land, because thats what it really is. i will play only 1 i think. there is no direct benefit from playing it besides path/ghostquarter and similar effects are less scary with barrys land in the 99. EXCEPT if you build a land ramp version of Karn - i would not recommend doing so but hey its an option ;)

i will most likely replace Haunted Fengraf with it.

the fact that cloudpost enters tapped doesnt hurt much in my experience. cloudpost and vesuva are the only etbt lands in the deck - AND the decks speed doesnt come from lands except workshop and scorched ruins. with glimmerpost, thespians and vesuva u have 4x locus. thats 4 mana for each cloudpost. you do not run glimmerpost for the life gain - its a locus. haven of the spirit dragon is the only way to get ugin back, screw the other dragon. for example haven + crucible of worlds = ugin -X every turn. if thats not worth running i dont know what is.... Urborg is a huge fixer in a deck with few lands and a number of lands that dont even produce any mana (like Maze of Ith) or for example if you feel like paying 2 life for 2 mana from ancient tomb is not the right choice right now...

the reason why i wanna replace haunted fengraf is that all important creatures can be brought back with buried ruins and without the annoying "randomness" that comes with fengraf.

of course you can replace any of the lands you pointed out but then id recommend replacing both cloudpost & glimmerpost because you wont need one without the other. just for the recor: ofc vesuva and thespiands stage are good enough to be in the deck even without any locus to copy. im just saying that because it might sound like their only purpose was to make more cloudposts
