Endbringer? I mean, the card really shines in EDH and you are running a colorless EDH deck.

I second Endbringer. I play it in my Ezuri, Claw of Progress deck, and despite not doing anything relevant to my strategy, it does a lot of work. One game, one of the other players (Lorthos) also had one. We proceded to kill a Misty, Grand Abolisher, and my Solemn Simulacrum. Good times, good times.

sry i thought i put the changes up there /sigh

  • -1 Rogue's Passage
  • +2 Wastes
  • -1 Meekstone
  • -1 Tomb of the Spirit Dragon
  • -1 Steel Overseer
  • +1 Kozilek, the Great Distortion
  • +1 Warping Wail

I never seem to use Passage and Overseer. I love both of them tho, great cards. Meekstone is great with Karn but i have enough ways to deal with creatures and i had to cut something ;)

it is a sick card, especially the card draw in multiplayer. but i cant untap it so it doesnt combo with any of the other pieces, its not an artifact so i cant do my regular shananigans with it and its a creature. no evasion

it would be better in a creature based deck thats built to abuse effects on creatures not on non-creature artifacts

Caligula really fast combo decks, like for example a nekusar wheel deck in my PG, are hard to beat but that goes for every1. its not really about bad matchups. its more about: is the other deck lucky enough (or has tutor) to get that 1-2 cards that will save him. and when he gets it you can either be ready for it (much easier now) or you are just f**ked and back at the beginning. thats why adding blue is generally a great idea.

but there are really easy matchups... every1 whos not prepared to destroy non creature artfacts, every equipment based strategy, every creature dmg based strtagy ..

Have you thought about putting in Kozilek, the Great Distortion? It draws you up to seven no matter what.

Now that you have Wastes in the deck, have you considered adding Solemn Simulacrum? It ramps you and also provides you with card advantage, which never hurts.

Another source of card advantage is Bottled Cloister. As you don't have many instants in the deck, the exile part of the ability won't be much of a hinderance, and drawing you an extra card each turn is nothing to scoff at, as well as turning into a 4/4 in a pinch with Karn, Silver Golem. It actually protects you from most targeted discard, and combos very nicely with Ensnaring Bridge, which you already have.

Sweet deck, definitely a +1 from me!

damn bro that is a great idea! ill definitly try Bottled Cloister. thx

ramping with mana rocks is still faster than land ramp but it wouldnt hurt to play it. i just dont have an open spot for Solemn

James, hes in there already

Not to mention that Bottled Cloister makes you immune to some important hand affecting abilities -- like play and sac Mindslicer or Mind Slash -- or maybe Ignite Memories after a Melek Storm

for an infinite lock you could add in Kill Switch to combo with Unwinding Clock and Mycosynth Lattice

Ghostfire Blade could work. Karn would look quite handsome in some Illusionist's Bracers. Maybe some protection like Darksteel Plate and Champion's Helm.

If you feel like doing something wacky, maybe Dragon Throne of Tarkir.

hey thx for the suggestions. pump equipment isnt really needed and it doesnt do enough for this deck outside of pumping creatures. bracers in theory are really good because 2 activations of an animated artifact are better than one..but theres really only planar portal, ring of three wishes and weatherlight (the rest wont matter). and i only animate those as part of an infinte combo and then i wont need bracers anymore.

darksteel plate and champions helm are great (plate was in the list for a while) but what would you drop for it? both dont give haste so they serve only one purpose and dont support any combo

dragon throne would be funny, i mean +9/+9 on every1 sounds good but i just threw out steel overseer because with all the gravepact effects that are flying around (all the meren decks etc) i dont animate my stuff to swing as often as i did in the past. no room for pump mechanics

I thought it would be good considering how much I end up dumping my hand with my version of this deck.Thought I'd pass it along =)

Does Nim Deathmantle and Mimic Vat really work like you explained in the descriptions? I thought since it was only a creature at time of death, and not upon entering the graveyard, those triggers wouldn't ever go on the stack? I pray that I am wrong though lol.

I love the deck though, Karn is one of my favorite characters too!

PepsiAddicted says... #18

ofc it works, dont worry. when triggers check they are creatures going to the GY. it doesnt matter what happens after that. you get non-creature artifacts back, or tokens in case of mimic vat.funny thing: an animated nim deathmantle triggers itself when it dies.

Reaxetion says... #19

Ok, I just wanted to make sure. The wording on the card had me confused because it said "Is put into a graveyard" instead of "Dies." Thanks for verifying!

February 10, 2016 9:59 a.m.

PepsiAddicted says... #20

Yeah the wording is... special in those cases. But if you wanna be absolute sure theres a ruling on gatherer for nom deathmantle that is pretty clear about animated artifacts ;)

@PepsiAddicted How's your card draw in the deck in the most recent version?

February 10, 2016 7:05 p.m.

PepsiAddicted says... #22

Its getting better ;)

February 11, 2016 1:33 a.m.

Vinman says... #23

Yeah it seems that you have switched to more tutoring than actual card draw, which is strong, but seems mana intensive.

February 11, 2016 9:38 a.m.

PepsiAddicted says... #24

Im more combo than beatdown atm(damn you gravepact & co) so yeah tutor is important right now! And if theres one thing this deck does then its spitting out large amounts of mana

February 11, 2016 12:21 p.m.

Vinman says... #25

That makes a lot of sense. I'm removing some stuff to upgrade the deck power level wise, and to make room for some stuff from BFZ and OGW. So there's a few things that gave me some card draw in order to have better card quality selection with tutoring myself. I was mainly wondering because the decks are similar but not identical how it has been working out. I'm positive our metas are really different, so you might have more high power level decks to contend with.
