Do not look at the tcg pricetag for this deck, you do not pay the actual M/NM price when you build a deck so its way off. The "real" price for me was like 50% of that.

Whats fun and fair depends on your playgroup ;) but i feel the same about counter, annihilator and LD.

I priced it all out using Card Kingdom Pricing. It came out to be around $1600 due to Mishra's Workshop.

That's just how I feel. My friends play some really unfair decks. So I make sure I build decks that can compete with them, but aren't TOO crazy. So they are multiplayer focused, but I crush 1v1. You can check them all out if you want! I only have been playing magic for about 3 years, so I essentially have made a deck a year. I will have made two decks this year if I build the Karn or Myr deck.

And I still can't get the link to work! I know how to use tappedout, but for some reason this just won't work =(

Yeah ill def check them out. So you play more 1v1 than mp?

My Myr deck I think needs so tweaks. But stormin Mormons, big damn heroes, and eat the rude are all finlized. The other edh decks are just deck lists I came up with. I don't actually own them.

Sometimes 1v1 when we wait for others to arrive.

PepsiAddicted doing a little hunting on gatherer and other artifact decks, do you think Arcbound Reclaimer would make a good fit into the list?

August 1, 2015 12:02 p.m.

PepsiAddicted says... #6

i played it in an early version of this list, it was good

Have you looked at all the great artifact stuff in magic origins? Things like Chief of the Foundry, Hangarback Walker, and Foundry of the Consuls?

Only testing Mage-Ring Network and Orbs of Warding atm. both great so far. The rest has potential too but i cant switch around too much at once and as you can see the cards-to-test list in the update section is pretty long already

Hi! I really liked your deck! Without a doubt, that you did a great job to create it! +1!

I have one question, why did you remove Staff of Domination from the deck to sideboard? It combos out with any infinite mana engine and with Metalworker. Is it to situational? The same with Rings of Brighthearth?

PepsiAddicted says... #10

hey :) thx

i didnt remove those cards. the cards in the SB are very strong and/or add some really mean/fast combos to the deck. in my playgroup there are some ppl that are weak and whiny ;) and some ppl are really hardcore and want the full Karn power. so sometimes i dont play the cards in my SB and i dont use Karn to remove lands and sometimes i can go all out. it all depends on who im playing with. f.e. Dark Depths + Thespians stage (and crypt or vault or sol ring or what ever) could be a turn 2 marit lage... some ppl just dont like that

lol! :)

Now I understand that you have quite a variety of players in your playgroup and meta. I only can suggest to add cards like Pithing Needle for protection, Kuldotha Forgemaster for fun :), or even Jester's Cap for combo decks.

August 10, 2015 3:18 a.m.

PepsiAddicted says... #12

ill add jester's cap to the update list and test it in the modo version of this deck. i already played needle in an earlier version of this, the problem with it is the main win con with karn is still the aggro path. so i cant run too many cards with low cmc. forgemaster is in main board already ;)

After reading your update I don't agree with some of them, but that's my own personal preference, plus our meta's are probably way way different. =) Anyways, Soul of New Phyrexia is a house. If you drop it and can protect it or hold up enough mana to use his ability, it's pretty much game. Even in the graveyard, people forget about it. It's really good. I'm going to have an update for my deck soon and the power level is going to jump dramatically because it'll be closer to what you have, but it will still have my own personal iterations and preferences. I was originally going to put in Vedalken Orrery for Shimmer Myr but I didn't for a couple of reasons. 1) I LOVE MYR! They are adorable and one of the most underrated tribes in MTG. I hope we get more Myr cards in the future. 2) I prefer the ability on Shimmer Myr due to IT actually having flash. It is easier to remove, but if you flash it in at the end of someone elses turn, then flash in Darksteel Forge it makes for a panic. 3) Karn and his grandchildren working together is awesome hahah. But this is all just my own opinion hahaha keep up the awesome updates! Also nice Marit Lage token! It's so SHINY

What did you not agree on? Orbs? Or that i cut overseer? Or something else?

Soul of new phyrexia is 100% in

I think Orbs is not great. Hexproof for player, sure, but for 5 mana is not good. The added ability isn't great either. It's a slightly better/different Witchbane Orb. I don't think Mage-Ring Network is good. There's way better lands you could replace it with, which I will be doing soon myself =). I already talked about the Shimmer Myr difference. Overseer is a must I feel. Both flavor and utility. If you're animating your artifacts, Overseer is even better, especially smaller artifacts that you normally wouldn't attack with. I think you could take out Arcbound Crusher for Overseer easily. Modular is great, but Overseer makes ALL of your creatures better. If crusher gets exiled, it's a waste, unless you sac it in response to something. This is all just me though, just comes down to preference and meta. Also Steel Hellkite isn't ugly....at least the promo one isn't. The promo looks more synthetic than the robotic mess of the regular version. Again, preference =)

i really like mage ring network. when i have rocks out i barely use lands so i can store a mana almost every turn, occasionally i double proliferate it. orb stops discard, edict effects that can cost me a shrouded karn and weenie rushs at the same time, and it swings for 5. shimmer myr has flash yes but it also has a huge target on its head. arcbound crusher is not in yet and im not sure if i want it in at all. it grows fast but it has almost no synergy. and like i said, cutting overseer does not feel right and im not sure about it.. everything u said about it is right, thats why i put it in in the first place. but it does nothing else and only has synergy with 1 other ability (again proliferate). and steel hellkite... well, ugly in the way of "wrong card flavor" not artwork (clorloess removal ability that hits colorless permanents... ahh i just dont like the design of the card. it should be like ugins -X and hit colored permanents only.AND it shouldnt be 0.50cent /sigh)

I gotcha. Again it's just preference. I don't like the storage lands. I had a hard time working with mage ring with my deck. And I think Orb is just a meta thing. Yeah it beats for 5, but most weenie decks I play against are either tribal or token, so they don't stay small for long. And gotcha again for hellkite. I think the flavor for it is fine. Most dragons have fire breathing. It's fire breathing can also just wipe tons of stuff off of the board. DRAGON STRONG hahaha Your changes make sense and fit your meta. I'm seriously so happy I made this deck. I'm having tons of fun with it. I think I love it so much is because I can control the power level as the game goes on. If I want the game to grind I can, if I want to be aggro I can, if the game is taking too long, just combo out. Thank you so much for the inspiration! #lovethekarnfather

Have you considered Haven of the Spirit Dragon? The chances of having it and Ugin simultaneously are slim, but that possibility seems worth it to me.

Have you just found Sundering Titan useless?

August 18, 2015 11:27 a.m.

The-Xellos says... #20

Sundering Titan is only legal in Dual Commander

August 18, 2015 12:14 p.m.

buildingadeck says... #21

That's lame. I was unaware of this.

August 18, 2015 12:42 p.m.

PepsiAddicted says... #22

Hey thx for the suggestions. Hah yeah sundering titan is just too much for the format ;)

I might use Haven. I can tutor it with 2 cards and 1 combo so chances arent that low. And getting ugin back is huge.

I should've assumed Titsn would be banned with the abuse a Roon deck could do with it.

Anyway, I thought you'd like the ability to recur Ugin. It also grabs Steel Hellkite now that it's back in, if you ever wanted to do that.

ah yes i didnt see that either ;) thx ill grab a copy when i get a chance
