I might consider swapping out Grisly Salvage and going with Sign in Blood . Of course some zombies aren't a problem in the graveyard but you also run the risk of dumping things in there that you want to keep. Lotleth Troll and Liliana are fine for dropping Gravecrawler or Slitherhead .

Been thinking about making room for Rancor in my deck as well. I do love Increasing Savagery but it's really only useful on a Troll or with Jarad around to sac whatever just got counters on it.

Thanks for the tips, I will do some test with Sign in Blood and see how it goes. I will still keep at least 2 Grisly Salvage . It help me choose from lands or creatures when in need (it hapends some times) and it feeds my Deathrite Shaman that sometimes do the final blow. So I'll make room for 2 Sign in Blood and test it for some times. I did not considered it before, but now I can see how it can help me with the draw or to do the final blow.

So thanks again emrakool

Have you looked at card:Jarad's Orders? It could fetch you a lot of those combos.

I have thought of card:Jarad's Orders, but for 4 mana, it's to much for this deck. Instead, I use Grisly Salvage . It doesn't give me the choice from all of my library, but it cost half the mana. It gives me the option of taking a land when needed and it sometimes also gives me card advantage when I put in my graveyard Gravecrawler or Slitherhead . And it feeds my Deathrite Shaman with whatever I need.

Can you update the card list with what you are currently using? I see no Killing Wave or Blood Artist

Thanks calvindoyle, I made the update.

if you are putting focus on Lotleth Troll and discarding, I'd suggest Veilborn Ghoul

I'd go for Dreg Mangler over card:Geralf's Messenger. It's useful for scavenging, helps Lotleth Troll more, and is much faster. It's also a huge drop if you get Rancor on it right away.

you might do well with Ghost Quarter to deal with cards like Moorland Haunt , Kessig Wolf Run , and Gavony Township which see a lot of standard play.

if you ever consider adding Corpsejack Menace then also consider Unbreathing Horde since 99% of this deck is zombies

@emrakool - I tough a lot about what you suggest, and find that it was one of the hardess choice I had to make. I finely decided to stay with my Grisly Salvage because it's one of the wild card that win me some games. In the other hand, I realize that 4 copies was to much, so I am now only running 2.

@Baddie - I tough at first that Veilborn Ghoul could have been a good idea, but it usually become a dead card if I don't draw a Lotleth Troll and now that I have reduce my troll to 2 (witch I will explain in my next update), it's even worse.

@Kravian - I was skeptical at first and wanted to play card:Geralf's Messenger instead (especially since I trade for one 10$ Geralf recently), but after some tests, I must say that the 4 Dreg Mangler are doing really well, even more since I also added 4 Diregraf Ghoul . It is making my deck much more aggressive.

@SwiftDeath - I did not think of this, and since I am now running 4 Overgrown Tomb , it probably will be easier to run a colorless land like Ghost Quarter . But I won't run more than 1 to stay fast, or the deck won't work anymore.

@ohnomydondon - I have no plans of playing Corpsejack Menace so as you mention yourself, I have no need of Unbreathing Horde . My deck is trying to kill the opponent very fast, so, as good as Corpsejack might be, it will slow down my deck to much. I also made in the past a lot of tests with the Horde and could never make it useful. I trade some cards to get my 4 copies and now, they are sleeping in my box. As much as I love the artwork, I unfortunately came to hate the card.

So thank you very much to all of you, and the others that I have already answered, for your good suggestions. I have considered all of them and I think that I have made my deck much better with your help. I always liked my deck, but now, I like it even more. I can't wait to see how much more I can upgrade it with your help. Keep sending me suggestions if you have more.

Thanks a lot : )

As per your recent post on the 'Deck Help' forums, if you are worried about Terminus , I would suggest 1 or 2 Cellar Door in your sideboard.

It feeds you 2/2 zombies for each creature Terminus got rid of, plus you can bring back Gravecrawler and/or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord (and then feed him), plus get the scavenge creatures into your grave.

I like the deck. +1!

I have a similar deck.. though I have it based a little around +1/+1 counters for the slightly longer games.

Feel free to take a look for ideas, as well as give suggestions (and +1).

Hey jokercrow. I just got your message, and would love nothing more than to help out.

I will be as honest as possible: In order to make this potentially the fastest deck on its own, you need to splash red. I will explain why.

I lost to a deck on turn 4 on Game Day, twice in a row. That is the first time that I've ever experienced that first hand. His deck was very similar to this one, except he did run Jund. This is what can win you games before they do:

1) Falkenrath Aristocrat will win you games. There isn't much to add to that, it's just how it is.

2) Vexing Devil and Brimstone Volley . I took 12 damage on turn 3 and it only required 2 cards to pull off. The combo you speak of requires you to empty your hand, and though it's good, if they counter it you lose the game right there.

I would recommend the following cards, in that case:

Arbor Elf

Vexing Devil

Brimstone Volley

Deathrite Shaman

Dreg Mangler

Falkenrath Aristocrat

Rancor

And anything else that works for you.

Thank you very much for your time FROZR2, I really appreciate it. I must say though that it's absolutely not what I was expecting. I really wanted to make another golgari deck (my last 3 decks are golgari, I'm a fan : ) ), but I will still make those tests on a copy of this deck, I really want to know how it goes and I guess that your suggestions are really good.

I have thought of adding a little red in there, but I thought that getting to a 3rd color would make the deck slower and cost to much money, but maybe it is what's missing.

Could you explain me how you do 12 damage in 3 turns with Vexing Devil and Brimstone Volley ? Depending on the choice of my opponent, I get, at best, 9 on one side and 11 on the other. Witch is still pretty good, I must say. : )

I think you are right for Falkenrath Aristocrat , this card is just so good and fits the deck just perfect. So I will make the jund copy of this deck right away and see how it goes.

Thanks again

Arbor Elf let's you pull off a turn 2 Dreg Mangler , 3 damage turn 2, and 3+9 damage on turn 3. That there is enough to win any game, even if you don't win right there. Next turn they can do very little.

No one wants a 4/3 before turn 3. They will take the damage, and Brimstone Volley will activate.

Vos_Is_Boss says... #22

Well then, bringing this deck back from the crypt i see. FROZR2 is right when he says adding red will really speed up your deck. From a different angle, Falkenrath Aristocrat 's ability, paired with Blood Artist is a nice way to deal some final damage after a swing. Sacrificing Gravecrawler s and card:Geralf's Messenger for damage can be a big boost.

If you're trying to stay in the golgari colors, I might suggest these few cards for a little more offense.

Highborn Ghoul

Wight of Precinct Six

Now, these are only suggestions, you dont actually need them to make your deck, but they could help with different scenarios. Highborn Ghoul would be very very good against decks with no black creatures, especially naya. They wont want to waist a burn spell on him, all the while he is poking for 2, or even 4 with a Rancor every turn.

Wight of Precinct Six i am only suggesting because it is a 2-drop zombie. If you decide to sideboard more creature hate. He can become a 3/3 after only 2 enemy creatures were put in the graveyard. Could be a nasty threat to drop later if the game leads that way.

Otherwise, without the use of red, this deck looks pretty solid and will probably do well at FNM. The only other thing i'd consider adding, is that your sideboard seems a little shaky. On average, i try to sideboard to counter 3 major decks. (would change depending on your meta). Red aggro, Naya Midrange, Esper control. If you think about those main decks, your sideboard would be a little more standard.

I am preparing the deck for tonight and I added 1 Highborn Ghoul in the main and I will probably add 1 or 2 Wight of Precinct Six in my sideboard. I also found a Essence Harvest in my cards and added 1 in the deck. It could make a good finishing card or it could save my ass against RDW.

If your creatures get big enough for that, that is. Otherwise, i suggest just adding Vampire Nighthawk

Wow, I forgot about Vampire Nighthawk . I've got some copies in my Zendikar vampire deck. Thanks for that, I will move those cards for tonight.
