Trying to make budget a Trail/Cartouche at least somewhat playable. The mana is super budget, but the deck is obviously not make to be competitive. The deck has 14 trials and 6 Cartouches. The deck appears really janky but comes together rather well. It plays like a combo/control deck that durdles until it has an opening.
Trial of Ambition and Trial of Zeal serve are natural removal in theme. They help delay the opponent as you set up. Trial of Strength can provide a very good blocker that later in the game can be used as an attacker. Trial of Knowledge is clunkier at 4 mana, but helps the deck have gas.
Cartouche of Knowledge is easily the best, as it gives evasion and card draw. Cartouche of Solidarity is really just used to recycle the trials at a low cost.
Herald of the Pantheon and Semblance Anvil make most of the deck cheaper, which allows you to better play recycled trials in later turns. Because the deck recycles trials as much as it does, exiling an extra to the Anvil is often not much of a downside.
Riptide Chimera is an all-star in the deck. First, its a 3/4 flier for 3 mana. Great stats. Second, if you don't have a cartouche, it can bounce a trial for reuse. Third, if you do have a cartouche, then you can return the cartouche to reuse all the trials in play. Fourth, the thing is an enchantment and benefits from all the cost reduction and card draw.
Eidolon of Blossoms is great for a card draw engine when playing those trials every turn, but its GG cost can be difficult at some times.
Invisible Stalker gives you a safe place to store cartouches, and also wears them well with unblockable.
Kruphix's Insight Basically a 3 mana draw 3 relevant cards.
Sigil of the Empty Throne is thematic way to end the game.
The biggest issue is the mana. With 5 colors it isn't always consistent, but the tri lands usually do a very good job with consistency. Regardless the deck is tons of fun and equally janky.
