Made some updates to the decklist. I swapped out some parts that didn't seem to have enough effect on the game to keep and added in some cards that I'm hoping fit better.

I have a similar deck. What about Valorous Stance for versitility, you get a heroic trigger or removal. Also how about Ajani Mentor of Heroes?

I think I'm going to remove the Arashin Foremost and put in Valorous Stance on a trial basis. I like the looks of it and how it would fit in as a stop-gap if I wasn't drawing enough protection spells. As for Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, he is too slow for the deck. I never like to tap out until I'm ready for a killshot and Ajani takes too much to get out early enough to make a difference.

I took out Citadel Siege because it does not trigger the heroic abilities and was not really doing much for the deck overall. I removed Fabled Hero as it was not as much of a factor as I thought it would be. He was a lightning rod for removal as soon as he hit the board. I wanted to maintain Phalanx Leader as the most intimidating creature on the battlefield because when the opponent targets him I can hit him with the protection to pump all creatures instead of just one.

I added Hero of Leina Tower back in for another go and slotted in Daghatar the Adamant as well. I'm hoping Daghatar will provide me with more late game punch and the ability to stack counters on a different creature if needed to trigger Hardened Scales later in the game with protection for the killshot.

The only thing with this deck is that half of it (including the heroic theme) rotates soon

Defiant Strike is a strong heroic card.

I tried playing with Defiant Strike and found that it was strong but didn't suit my play style with the deck. I needed all the protection I could get and could not sacrifice those spells to make room for it. I feel like this version of the deck was the most efficient and most resilient against sub-par match-ups. It really doesn't need the card draw that often because I like to play my protection spells defensively, so my hand is rarely empty.
