I'd just bring the Anger of the Gods to 2x, and finish your playsets of Read the Bones and Thoughtseize .

Other than that, I like it.

Doom Blade can be moved to sideboard too to make room for a couple Whip of Erebos and you can finish your playsets of Desecration Demon and Lifebane Zombie .

@magic_master: By putting the set's tag in brackets after the land count. When you're writing your deck up, put in lands like this:

  • Plains [ZEN]
  • Island [ZEN]
  • Swamp [ZEN]
  • Mountain [ZEN]
  • Forest [ZEN]

or, if they're Unhinged lands:

  • Plains [UNH]
  • Island [UNH]
  • Swamp [UNH]
  • Mountain [UNH]
  • Forest [UNH]

Not completely sure if the Unhinged lands work here, but the Zendikar ones do.

Thanks guys for the +1. You guys have good suggestions, I just feel it would be nice to have a small board wipe with anger of the gods. It really helps me stabilize so I can control the game.

What do you think about switching Doom Blade to Devour Flesh ? If there's anything left over that your other removal couldn't deal with, you might want to have a backup that can get around protection, hexproof, and other problems.

I'd probably consider mainboarding Rakdos's Return for some more hand disruption and possibly a finishing blow to the face...although I guess that goes against your Stormbreath Dragon idea.

I would cut the Nighthowler s add two more guild gates and probablly 1 more Read the Bones

Ha ha ha, rakdos control, I thought i'd never see it but you proved me wrong! :)

Anyway, maybe you could switch your Read the Bones for a few Underworld Connections as you can keep using it. Also, I don't think that you should get rid of the Nighthowler s as Desecration Demon fills up the graves quickly. As for more lands, I reckon you've got the right amount.

I think Stormbreath Dragon is more of an aggressive creature. Unless you're going against another control deck, your opponent may not have very many cards in hand, anyway. Sire Of Insanity and Rakdos's Return in the sideboard are counterproductive to the dragon, too.

Have you considered/tested Underworld Cerberus ?

Funny how I made a rakdos control deck a few weeks back, and this is the 2nd or 3rd since then that I've seen with the same idea... Rakdos Big Boys

In the end, I feel like Rakdos Control will be the new Golgari Control since Anger of the Gods is essentially a mutilate for red instead of black.

+1 for keeping the trend alive!
