Hello everyone, this is my first modern deck and the first deck I've added on the website. Its a blue green control that splashes black in the sideboard.
It has potential for a turn 2 win but it's most common win is turn 3 or 4 if the opponent has no answers. The turn 2 win is like this:
Turn 1 - Land and Glistener Elf
Turn 2 - Land and ( Groundswell +
Might of Old Krosa
or double Groundswell or double
Might of Old Krosa
or Groundswell +
Giant Growth
or
Might of Old Krosa
+
Giant Growth
) + Mutagenic Growth
There are other possible ways depending on how many Mutagentic Growth you have in your hand.
Card list and why they're in here:
Glistener Elf - It's an infected 1/1 for 1, it has incredible potential when buffed with the right spells.
Blighted Agent - It's an unblockable 1/1 with infect for 2 mana, with the right buffs he can easily win a game.
Noble Hierarch - The exalted gives a small buff to the creatures and helps play more buff spells each turn and it surprisingly only costs 1 for this amazing creature.
Giant Growth
- Gives +3/+3 to any creature for 1 mana.
Mutagentic Growth - This is my favorite buff because it comes in handy for offense or defense, you can either tap 1 or pay 2 life (life doesn't really matter in this deck because your goal is easier to reach than your opponents) this really helps when your tapped out and need to get a quick buff for extra damage or extra toughness.
Groundswell - This buff is really cool because you can give a creature +2/+2 or use the landfall trigger and give it +4/+4. The best part about this buff is that it only costs 1!
Might of Old Krosa
- Tap 1 to give a creature +4/+4 on your main phase or give it +2/+2 at instant speed.
Vines of Vastwood - It gives my creature protection for 1 and a +4/+4 bonus for 1.
Apostle's Blessing - Protects creatures and also makes Gistener Elf unblockable for a turn, can play for 2 or pay 2 life and tap 1.
Dispell - Easily protects creatures from removal and counters other counter spells.
City of Brass - Adds any color of mana for 1 life.
Mana Confluence - Same as City of Brass
Breeding Pool - Blue/Green shock land, it can be pulled from the deck with Polluted Delta
Pendelhaven - Adds green mana and also gives target 1/1 +1/+1, it helps when I can't draw any buffs (rarely happens). I'm only running 1 because they're Legendary.
Dryad Arbor - This can act as man and also protect your creatures from sacrifice.
Windswept Heath - Helps get the Breeding Pool or Overgrown Tomb
Inkmoth Nexus - It's a land that also works as a backup creature if I can't draw any other creatures.
Sideboard:
Gitaxian Probe - let's me see the opponents hand so I can plan around their cards and gives me an extra card draw for 1 mana or 2 life.
Dismember - Creature removal that has multiple combinations to pay for it.
Surgical Extraction - Takes out their 'boom' cards for 11 mana or 2 life.
Overgrown Tomb - To splash black (can be fetched with Polluted Delta ).
Thoughtseize - This can take their 'boom' cards from their hand and combos well with Surgical Extraction and only costs 1 to play.
Nature's Claim - Exiles an artifact or enchantment for 1, it gives them 4 life but it doesn't matter because I'm dealing infect damage.
