Izzet Burn/Control set tooled for Double Header

While this deck can hold it's own in regular Standard, it's lack of win-cons makes it a tough sell. It was built mainly for Double Header as an early-mid game controller and is best matched with a mid-late game win-con heavy deck.

Basic scenario is save burn/control for creatures on the enemy turn, making them nervous about all your mana being available all the time. Once mid-game hits the deck becomes more of a harassment than anything else.

Currently thinking about dropping the Young Pyromancers for more burn or land, as they slow the deck's control elements down and add little since they are removed/chump block almost immediately.

Double Header FNM at the local LGS is one of my favorite events. Part of a 4-way tie for first after 4 rounds, I was partnered with an Orzhov Control deck running Baron and Ghost Daddy. We wanted to go to playoffs but two of the teams couldn't stay for another round, making us go to win percentages (ours was lowest due to the by)

Round 1: By-Round.

Round 2 vs Red/Green and Green/White. My partner ate a lot of our health with Thoughtseize and Read the Bones early and we ended up at 12 by mid game but a distracting Ral Zarek and a clutch catch by me to notice my partner could Debt to the Deathless into a full bodied Blood Baron of Vizkopa for lethal grabbed us our win.

Round 3 vs Red/White and Green/Red. We accepted some mediocre hands and didn't get the draws we needed, but kept the game close. We misplayed a few times early game however and couldn't squeak out a win, giving us our one loss. This team ended up with the highest win percentage in the 1st place tie.

Round 4 vs White/Black and Mono-White. We had control of this game throughout. BB of V was untouchable and Ral Zarek threw down his ultimate for 3 extra turns of BB goodness for the win.

It was disappointing that we didn't get to do playoff rounds, but still "4th" out of 10 teams isn't bad.
