If you can't tell by the commander, this is one of my longest running decks that I've been tinkering with since like 2010 every time we get cool new cards in the black slice of the color pie. Xiahou-Dun is one of the go-to old school mono-black generals that used to see a lot more play back in the day then he does in the current commander landscape. I've been advised in the past to sub him out for Sidisi and see how I like piloting the deck with her at the helm, which I've considered, but Xiahou-Dun has won me so many casual games and pay-in tourneys (non cedh) so he holds a special place in my black little heart. I love pulling him out and seeing people's reactions of "HORSEMANSHIP?" , or dismissively passing him off after they read the card, but there are those who've been around since the early days who just nod their heads at the sight of the still super effective and dangerous OG generals. Anyways, the deck plays like you would expect any mono-black deck to play: tutors, life drain, boardwipes, combos, and it usually does all or some of those things consistently well. Like I said, I'm always updating the deck whenever new stuff comes out that catches my eye, or if I get bored of seeing some cards that don't perform as well as I want them to.
