I used it when I had my Geth, Lord of the Vault deck. If it's not answered quickly, you can easily get upwards of 15+ black mana every 1st main phase. Best thing about Black Market is that it sees tokens too.

Huh. I was sure that Dark Depth's was banned in commander...apparently not. :V

Welp...Guess I'll get myself one the next time I can.

I don't think Dark Depths was ever banned in commander, though I could be wrong. A great combo is Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage . Sac Thespian's Stage to the ability and get a free 20/20 Marit Lage. Another, if you run black, is AEther Snap + Dark Depths .

I had plans to make a deck with it and vampire hexmage. Which you got in your deck, so you are set. :P

Phyrexian Reclamation, is a terrifying card with your general. Once you get a tutor into the grave you can just keep recycling it until you get something out together.

Extraplanar Lens and switching to Snow-Covered Swamps? +1 from me.

SorinDankov: I've slowly, but surely been amassing my foil Snow-Covered Swamps so I can eventually put Extraplanar Lens in there :)

I can't help but want to put Hatred in my black decks...

Interesting take on a horsemanship general. Personally I've never thought of not focusing a horsemanship general around horsemanship. Is there too much removal for you to kill with voltron commander damage, or did you just want to go for a two-prong approach for personal preference?

electromancer: I use Xiahou-Dun's ability 9.9/10 times...I don't remember the last time i attacked with him :D Some people like to run Hatred in their builds for the chance to knock someone out, and if it comes down to it, I could use him with Grafted Exoskeleton to put someone on a 2 turn clock with infect, but I've rarely had to do that either.

You could run Shriekmaw for targeted removal. I'm not sure whether there's a need for low cost removal in creature form. I'm currently playing around with the idea of a Balthor the Defiled deck.

Filth + urborg is fun too

Nef: Hehe I like the idea of Filth, but I don't really attack with my creatures. When I do though, I have usually board wiped and reanimated something into the field and have a clear path. I used to love Hex Parasite in Standard! Such a great card against 'Walkers. In this deck I run AEther Snap, which takes out 'Walkers and Tokens, it's very versatile!

Very interesting mono- deck. I think that Ward of Bones would be cool, as you can sac creatures at instant speed to cancel their playing of a creature spell (If I'm understanding correctly). If i'm not understanding the text right, it would still be a cool function that shuts down certain decks.

November 11, 2015 9:31 a.m.

@ Prima

You're almost right about Ward of Bones. It prohibits the casting of the appropriate spell. If a creature spell has already been put into the stack, and at the time it was legal to be cast, it's considered cast once payments are finished. If, before the resolution process, the casting becomes illegal, nothing happens because it's already considered cast.

However, if you make the casting illegal before it's actually cast, perhaps during the draw step, then that would work with prohibiting said spells.

November 11, 2015 3:40 p.m.

To make it simpler, Ward of Bones doesn't counter or remove a spell that's already cast on to the stack. It prohibits the spell from being cast in the first place.

Raging_Squiggle beat me to the answer! I'm not 100% sold on Ward of Bones. Some people say it's good, some people say it's not as great as it seems. Will have to just play test and see how it stacks up against my meta.

Good point on the Ward of Bones. Very interesting deck indeed.

I understand how good Blood artist is, but since you don't have an infinite combo to abuse him, and not very consistent deaths (like 2 to 3 a turn), I think he'll just become a target and you'll have wasted that turn.
