Kryzis: Good point on Blood Artist. I've actually been thinking about pulling him out. I've been considering Ghoulcaller Gisa.

That seems like a much better option.

Temporal Extortion + Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed + Sheoldred, Whispering One puts a lock on the game. Either you take an extra turn and return Temporal Extortion to your hand to do it again next turn, or someone loses half of their life and you return the card to your hand to do it again next turn. This works with any continual reanimation card in the Sheoldred slot such as Dawn of the Dead, which I recommend playing by the way.

I would also recommend Viscera Seer. A free instant speed sacrifice outlet that improves card quality for only one black is great.

Reiver Demon offers you a one-sided board wipe that you can cast repeatedly thanks to your Commander.

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed helps you abuse strong enter the battlefield triggers such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel over and over. Considering you aren't playing any Planeswalkers you could even consider Thief of Blood to further this strategy. Thief of Blood is a powerful etb effect that kills all opposing Planeswalkers when it enters, hoses opposing +1/+1 decks such as Ghave, Marath, Vorel, etc., and also pulls all the +1/+1 counters off of your creatures so that they may undie with Mikaeus again.

I think Toxic Deluge is just a straight upgrade to Mutilate.

You're playing all of the tutors that I would expect you except for Entomb. 1 black and instant speed is great value.

Venser's Journal + Necropotence is absolutely insane. Provided the Journal survives until your next upkeep you gain all of the life you sank into Necropotence right back.

Shouldn't that be Blackest Knight?

Can I ask why you're running Mind Shatter instead of Mind Twist?

Please don't tell me that it's because you have the former in foil.

YamishiTheWickedOne: Good point! Changing the name :D

NoOneOfConsequence: Believe it or not, I don't have a copy of Mind Twist, but I should be able to procure one. I have a friend that can proxy foils pretty accurately, so non-foils aren't an issue!

Midwest: Lots of good suggestions...will have to revisit this and reply to all of them later :)

I know it's been probably suggested a thousand times over, but there's so many comments....

Dark Depths, but no Vampire Hexmage or Thief of Blood?

Karzalar: I used to run Hexmage, but I had to cut cards and was banking on just utilizing Thespian's Stage to combo with Dark Depths. I've realized the utility of Hexmage goes beyond just comboing with Dark Depths, it also rids you of pesky Walkers. A friend's Teferi (walker) deck combo'd off on t3 this weekend, Vampire Hexmage is definitely making a comeback lol

Your deck is called Black Knights Matter but you don't run Black Knight

???

This deck is very similar to mine, seems hyper focused for your local meta though. The logic behind my deck is to catch wider metas. Also until recently we had banned infinite combos. Tell me what you think I am curious. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/land-of-the-dead-welcome-to-the-river-styx/

Big question that jumped out at me though, is why don't you run Whip Of Erebos?

Pedrodamus says... #12

Stevodays: I wouldn't say this is focused primarily on my local meta (although I do at time make changes to account for it) more so than it is for interacting in multiplayer games. I feel like I could bring this deck to any shop and it would do well in a multiplayer setting. I don't use Whip because it exiles and I'm not a fan of losing my creatures at the end of turn. If I'm going to run a mechanic that recurs my general, I would want him to go to the GY instead of the command zone.

Bad ass deck. XDOE is so cool. No Sheoldred, Whispering One? She seems really good here?

I've tried to upvote this deck several times,, its not registering that I did tho.

bradtheimpaler13 Haha no worries, maybe you upvoted before? I used to run Sheoldred, she's great, but draws sooo much more hate than what you're already generating by just playing this deck lol. Instead I run Dawn of the Dead and for some reason that doesn't draw as much ire from the table and it's harder to get rid of. The loss of 1 life is negligible in this deck and I make sure to have a sac outlet or plan a wipe so I don't lose what I recur. Sheoldred may creep back around at some point in time because I like to change things up every now and then to keep my playgroup on it's toes.

Can you not upvote a deck more than once? I probably did a while back then. I usually check out every mono black commander deck i see, and XDOE is one of my favorite cards. Its so cool that he can recur non creatures.

Hey Chino! I love your deck! +1 from me! A couple thoughts...

Mastermind's Acquisition is strictly better than Diabolic Tutor

Speaking of tutors, look into Grim Tutor or Imperial Seal for more consistency (should you have that issue)

You run thespian's stage, so you might also want to consider Vesuva (think cabal coffers/utility lands)

Lastly, I see you're running hatred! AMAZINGLY FUN CARD! I love you for that alone. But it would suck to pour a lot of life into it and then have it countered (additional cost to cast is loss of life, see oracle text). As such, I think you should have something in your deck to help you against counterspells. That card is Imp's Mischief. SUPER UTILITY. Save a creature, redirect a big X spell, or change the target of a counterspell to imp's mischief. Oh, you want to vindicate my cabal coffers? Well I'll lose 3 and then destroy your commander instead :D

Mirage Mirror is another utility card you might want to look into. Another cabal coffers, big dude, useful artifact or enchantment, etc... It also functions well with Dark depths to get the 20/20 Token.

If you ever get a chance, please check out my deck deck:The Descent Into Darkness, as I would love your feedback! Cheers!
