You maybe want to consider running dictate of kruphix, instant devotion and card draw are pretty cool. I'm running a similar build take a look at mine and tell me what you think. +1 though cuz I like your deck over allot of the other MUD decks I've seen so far, it most closely resembles mine lol

ozzy4492, In case you did not notice Dictate of Kruphix is on my maybeboard, which means I will be testing it out. Thanks for commenting anyway.

Been testing this and blue devote hurts so much, honestly the counter spells trump your opponent, while consistently building up. Plus Master of Waves is nasty with Mirror Mockery. I had an idea for this before seeing your post last week, but it performs much better than I thought, Congrats.

Nice Mono-Blue Devotion but remember that you have one weakness: Mistcutter Hydra can easily overcomes your mono-blue devotion if you are not careful. Try to sideboard with Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact is a great defensive against any creature with protection from blue like Mistcutter Hydra.

And why not use Invisibility instead of Aqueous Form for extra blue devotion?

don't know why ppl(richlive911) keep saying master of waves and mirror mockery is a good combo as i already posted, it is not. when you swing with Master of Waves the opponent which should have at least one creature on the field will certainly block him and with only 1 toughness he'll most likely die losing him and mirror mockery and since the copy token gets exiled at end of combat all your tokens will die unless of course you have a pump going on with either Hall of Triumph, Obelisk of Urd or another Master of Waves or unless you were giving it unblockable with Thassa but all that is too much set up to rely heavily upon. Fated Infatuation is a much better option for when they go to kill your master which they will certainly do for it'll rid them off the tokens, you copy him making more tokens and keeping them alive as well as scry 2 for only 3 mana. Clever Impersonator is another option while not as defensive it has utility to copy anything including opponent which is great.

If you run Thassa or Aqueous form like most builds do, Master of Waves will be unblockable. Also you run 4 ways to pump the tokens yourself.

Master of Waves and Mirror Mockery should only be used as a combo WHEN, you have the neccessary set-up to save your tokens. Correct, everything could die, I never said that it wasn't a possibility but no-one should be attacking with Master of Waves unless he is unblockable (which is not hard to "set-up") or you have a field buff up for your elementals a.k.a. Obelisk of Urd or Hall of Triumph. If your opponent has the possibilty to field wipe or cast a Mistcutter Hydra, there is also the possibility that you can counter their field wipe, or overwhelm them with tokens or a buff unblockable Shorecrasher Elemental. You cannot call a play bad, because something can stop it, in MTG there is always a possibility of something working against you, you just need to work around your opponent. Who's to say that you cannot scry for a Master of Waves, Cloudform into him enchant with Mirror Mockery and then manifest next turn? If that seems like alot to "Set-Up" you are either thinking too hard, or not enough.

Thank you Jasper-Sol. See you don't go in brain dead with nothing to stop MoW from dying.

March 31, 2015 10:19 a.m.

Jasper-Sol says... #10

Also MoW is pro-red and a lot of this format is red right now.

March 31, 2015 10:23 a.m.

Kryptonik says... #11

Exactly so Red-Rush style decks cannot even affect MoW.

now your talking about putting 2 auras mirror mockery and Aqueous Form into Master so now your getting Bile Blighted and losing 3 cards and maybe your tokens and most ppl try and stay away from auras for that reason in the first place besides its still too much of a set up to have to configure when you could simply use something better like fated infatuation which serves a much greater utility. also what else you putting mirror mockery on besides mov? it seems like a waste to put in a card that will only see play on rare occasions and in very specific Conditions. and the point of mtg is there is always something to stop you but you try and diminish that as much as possible by not playing cards that r dead weight such as this.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/blue-devotion-elementals/ Check my build on a g/u elemental tribal themed deck. I really like where this deck is headed but i feel like cloudform could be taken out for scion of glaciers he is excellent against siege rhino and has double devotion.

Sith_Acolyte, what you are forgetting about Mirror Mockery is that you can enchant it on your opponent's creature too. Most of the time, I will be enchanting it on my opponent's creatures. It usually will act as a blue Pacifism, but if my opponent desperately needs to attack, I get a blocker (the token) that also triggers enter the battle abilities. Think about enchanting this on cards such as Siege Rhino. It ruins the point of that creature attacking because there is no benefit. Also, as richlive911 pointed out, the combo Master of Waves + Mirror Mockery is not as hard to pull off as it seems. I have lots of cards that make my creatures hard to block and lots of cards that pump up my creatures.

ah interesting never thought about it for use on opponent creature still don't like it much with mov but at least it has some potential now

in that case though I don't know if I'd run mainboard a sound strategy I never thought of though thanks

Oh wow Ninjakai, i didn't think about that either you can really cause some damage with Mirror Mockery if you get the tokens of creatures on your opponents side of the field, but would that token end up on your side of the field though??? The card reads that you get a token on the battlefield, on your side????? :O

April 1, 2015 9:56 a.m.

AwesomeName says... #19

richlive911, yes, the token would end up on your side.

Mirror Mockery on something like an opponent's Siege Rhino or Hornet Queen = lol.

What about Quickling instead of Vaporkin?

While I understand Thassa's Rebuff in a devotion deck, it seems really underwhelming (potentially useless) if you're not doing well, so it doesn't help in getting you out of a hole. I feel like Dissolves or even Negates would be better suited since people will go after your creatures with kill spells to stem your devotion (which is where that Quickling suggestion comes in).

AwesomeName says... #21

thewyzman, I know that Quickling is usually better than Vaporkin, but Vaporkin is just being tested out right now, and it also fits the elemental theme of the deck.

April 6, 2015 6:04 p.m.

You know what's better than enchanting your opponents Siege Rhinos and Hornet Queens with Mirror Mockerys? Having a Bident of Thassa, too.

I run mono-blue as well and from my experiences, Mirror Mockery is absolute weak sauce in a deck like this. Fated Infatuation is what you want. Mirror Mockery has decent utility against some threats, but is next to useless as an offensive weapon on MoW unless you are playing against mono-red. Fated Infatuation is an instant that can WIN the game when played at the right time. The potential scry is nice, and if you ever decide to run the amazing Silumgar Sorcerer, Fated Infatuation would double as a counterspell whenever he's on the board.

diilach0 says... #24

Also, Mirror Mockery is predictable and easy to defend against.

April 12, 2015 3:03 a.m.

Kryptonik says... #25

Fated Infatuation is actually one of the better call-outs for this deck, and yea it works 10x better than Mirror Mockery not really "easy" to defend against ,but it can be managed.
