SB's Keyword Mashup: Transmute+Delve

Casual

SorcerersBone

Hello everyone, welcome to this decklist! I've decided to challenge my Johnnyness by combining Keyword mechanics in new and interesting ways. Today I combined Transmute and Delve!

For those who don't know, transmute lets you discard a specific card for 3 mana (in some combination of black, blue, and colorless) and search for a card in your deck with the same converted mana cost. In this case, we're searching for cards with delve; Delve lets you exile a card in your graveyard instead of paying one colorless mana in order to cheapen the cost of that card.

Some of you may now be realizing the interaction. "Wait, transmute puts a card in the graveyard to find something you need... and delve cards use the graveyard as fuel..." Congrats! That's the entire point of this deck! To run usable Transmute cards that can be discarded in a pinch for cheap (and therefore powerful) Delve cards!

Some of you may look at this deck and see something wrong with it. (ok, probably more than one something, but this deck is pretty gimmicky.) "Disciple of Deceit? What's she doing in here?" Well I'm glad you asked, because she actually Transfigures any nonland card in your hand for the low low price of untapping. And because the Transfigure is free, it means more mana can be spent on the higher cmc Delve cards.

While the mana curve of this deck is high, you have to remember that Transfigure and Delve reduce the cost substantially, and even Tasigur himself helps everything along smoothly with both card advantage and enabling delve.

Here's a neat trick. No matter what card Tasigur mills, it can only help you. Your opponent can make one of 3 choices; either a transfigure card which means you can tutor for anything you want, or a delve card which means they'll have fewer chances to screw you over because you can simply delve away the cards you don't want. The third choice? Another Tasigur. But that just means you can start swinging with the one on the field without fear.

Fear. That reminds me. Dimir House Guard plays an important role. Sure he can only transfigure into other copies of himself or Clutch of the Undercity, but Clutch is a pretty good Vapor Snag-ish spell, he's a mostly unblockable creature, and is excellent at blocking. He can also regenerate at the cost of sacrificing a creature... which enables delve. He can also attack if the board state goes into a bored state. Dimir Infiltrator serves that purpose of whittling down your opponent too, but he can also transfigure into counterspells, so keep that in mind.

If you liked this deck idea, please upvote and comment below any two keywords for me to combine, the stranger the better. My decks may not be competitive, but I try to make them as interesting as possible. Cheers!
