Delver of Secrets
Hello this is my Bant Delver Deck. Im a Delver fan and this is my attempt to build a modern Delver deck, which isn't like others. I tried to add two of my favorite cards form the Tarkir Block (Monastery Mentor / Become Immense)
Monastery Mentor
I think Monastery Mentor and Delver of Secrets
are very good together, because the same cards, which let the Delver of Secrets
flip, are very useful for Monastery Mentor. Especially if their cmc is low because the more non-creature spells your able to cast, the more token you get. And everyone loves prowess tokens with 25 non-creature spells in your library.
Become Immense
Become Immense did I first play in my Modern Infect Deck. Since then I started to play it in a lot of decks. First in my red Standard with green splash (that wasnt my idea I copied that deck more or less) now I play it even in my Infect Legacy deck. +6/+6 for one mana is a great finisher, but I have to be careful because of Tarmogoyf. But a 9/8 Insectile Aberration
, a 10/10 flying angle token or a 9/9 Monastery Mentor is awesome.
Geist of Saint Traft
If I play Blue/White I really like Geist in the library. Yes he is easy blockable and destroyable. But if I have a Cryptic Command, Path to Exile or Become Immense on my hand it deals a lot of damage.
Tarmogoyf
I dont know what to say about my decision to add Tarmogoyf to this deck. Green, I own four Goyfs. Thats it. (BTW: Only one is Foil)
Vendilion Clique: Two use cases: 1. Combo disabler 2. I want to draw a card.
Cryptic Command: Great card, Blue is my mane color in this deck any way. I would play two if I wouldnt just own one.
Mana Leak: Its never bad to have some counter spells in your mainboard ;)
Ojutai's Command: Card draw and reanimate a Tarmogoyf or Delver of Secrets
. If I have a Geist of Saint Traft on the battlefield, it can be very useful to counter a creature spell.
Path to Exile: Needless to say anything.
Remand: Slows the opponent, let me draw a card.
Spell Pierce: Counter a counter spell. Or a removal for just one.
Telling Time: I know, not everyone likes this card. But an instant which allows me to fetch in my opponents turn and make sure to flip my Delver of Secrets
is awesome + Draw an additional card and remove one I dont want can be very useful to.
Gitaxian Probe: Turn one Probe + Delver <3
Serum Visions: Card draw + flip my delver is all I want.
Celestial Colonnade: A creature which I can protect very easy in the late game can be very useful and Colonnade can be exactly that for 5 Mana.
