The Pain of Loss [[Flicker Combo/Control]]

Modern* Attrition Blink Combo Control Discard WB (Orzhov)

Sideboard

This deck seeks to cause our opponents Grief by removing the key cards in their hand.

The plan for this deck is pretty simple. We want to control our opponents hand, removing as many key cards as early as possible. This is where our star Grief comes in. We can shape our opponents hand, for free, on turn one. Normally we would lose Grief , but if you flicker it with Ephemerate or Cloudshift you get to remove an additional card, and it won't die.
The only wincon for this deck is beating down your opponent while controlling their hand and creatures. This will probably take a while, so be patient.
As mentioned earlier, the main combo of the deck is Grief plus Ephemerate / Cloudshift . This, on turn one, is a two for two. It's also usually worse for our opponent, as they're losing their key cards while we are using ours. There are also other cards which make this combo even better. Surgical Extraction removes all copies of a card from our opponents deck. It's an amazing card in most decks, especially in this one because you can use it after you use Grief to hurt your opponents deck, and give you full information of what your opponent is running. Silverquill Silencer is also very good, because it taxes out opponent on a key card that we couldn't remove from their hand. Both of those cards also work well with other hand disruption, such as Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek
The remainder of the deck is mostly just removal for our opponents creatures and a few of our own creatures to apply a but more pressure on our opponent.
Thanks for checking out my deck. Suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
