REVISED 6/12/2017 AMONKET

Welcome to my Modern Faeries Deck
I decided to construct this deck after playing U/B dragons in standard during Dragons of Tarkir. If I am honest with myself, the dragons deck was fun to play but was too limiting on the tools available.
I have always had an interest in the faerie tribal and finally decided to pull the trigger shortly after bitterblossom was reprint in MM2. The mainboard and sideboard is an accurate representation of the current deck. The maybe list are cards I either have and am considering, or cards I would like to acquire. I am not going into detail on the mechanics of individual cards, that information can be seen in this Primer. I would like to focus on the general 'tools' used within the deck and their quantities.

Land:
23 lands - I currently run 23 lands and have experimented with 24 but did not have agreeable results.
- currently 4 man lands. I would like to move up to 5 or 6.
- currently 1 destruction land. I am uncertain to move up to 2 or not.

Counter Spell:
9 Counter spells - currently this quantity has seemed sufficient.
4 Counter creatures Spellstutter Sprite

Removal Spell: 6 removal - currently this quantity seems sufficient. - affinity has not been a thing in my meta, so Go for the Throat does a lot of work
- I have loved the interactions of Slaughter Pact as a one-of

Hand Disruption:
4 IoK - I would like to add one Thoughtseize to bring this up to 5

Enchantment:
4x Bitterblossom is an auto include

Creatures:
12 Creatures - this area seems to have the most variation within decks I have studied. anywhere from 10 to 14 creatures seems to be normal. my deck drastically improved in consistency when adding the 2 snapcasters and I would swear by them. However, I don't believe the deck needs more than 2.

Planeswalker:
2x Liliana of the Veil

Results - 3-1-0- Placed Top 4!! and split the last round (which I lost because I was screwing around)

Game 1 vs Bogles - 2-1 WIN
comments - this was a difficult matchup and was very close. I won in the end because my opponent only had Kor Spiritdancer and Dryad Arbor, which did not like kill spells. Bitterblossom won both games.

Game 2 vs Living End - 2-0 WIN
comments - U/B Fae does work against this deck. Counter 2 living ends game 1 into Vendilion Clique wins. Remand into Snapcaster MageRemand won the second game. This was a very strong matchup!

Game 3 vs Scapeshift - 2-0 WIN
comments - Game 1 was very close, it came to him missing scapeshift and burning 3 consecutive turn Vendilion Cliques the last stuck and won the game. Game 2 I simply counterspelled and had perfect tempo to disrupt. Countered Farseek to slow down, Cliqued Scapeshift and mana leaked Primeval Titan. He scooped.

Game 4 vs R/G burn-Become Immense - 0-2 loss
comments - The first game was a legite loss, 2x Goblin Guide and Monastery Swiftspear do work. I should have won game 2 but was already excited about getting top 4 with the split, I tried to crypic command rendering volley, so yea....

Overall Thoughts:
Extremely happy with the second iteration!!! My only thoughts my be exchanging Mana Leak for either Deprive or Familiar's Ruse but would like some feedback.
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver did not see any play. The only time in hand was against the bogles matchup with a Leyline of sanctitity in play. I have been liking the playtest results though.
-I kept the 2x River of Tears removed 1x Island, 2x Polluted Delta for Sunken Ruins, Mutavault and Sunken Ruins.
I will be looking to optimize the sideboard. Ideally removing cards that I have not been siding in. This evaluation is ongoing.
