Vampire Madness
This is my attemp to make a versatile Vampire/Madness Deck thats suitable for the Standard now.
Tipps and Suggestions
First of, im always open for new Suggestion and improvements of my Deck.
But please always keep in mind, that i try to build this on a Budget.
The Thoughts behind
I was always a Fan of Madness. Just the word alone seems to tell that this can't be a normal Ability. And now with it returning in Battle over Zendikar, Shadows over Innistrad and Eldrich Moon, we have enough new Toys to build a competetive Madness Deck.
I will now go through my Cards one after the other to explain my Thoughts.
Mana Base
Were in the Colours of Rakdos, so we just have to care about two.
Also i watched out that i do not have too many tapped Land so the early game wont be affected.
Smoldering Marsh & Foreboding Ruins & Swamp & Mountain
A Foreboding Ruins & a Mountain in your opening hand is a fine Start, means just another Swamp and you're at
As soon as you hit in any way, with this Deck you can cast everything in the means of colored mana.
This () is only the case with Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, Voldaren Pariah
, Stromkirk Condemned, Drana, Liberator of Malakir and Murder.Every other Card is castable with one or , as long as you take the madness in count wich will always trigger.
But since we need , i setteled for 9 Swamp and 7 Mountain.
In playtesting 90% of the time my first 3 Lands were a combination of , if now Swamp Swamp Smoldering Marsh or Foreboding Ruins Swamp Swamp or Swamp Swamp Mountain.
Creatures
Falkenrath Gorger
- A Key Card in this Deck
- As a 2/1 for costefficient
- A fast attacker
- And most important,it enables Madness on all our Creatures.
Heir of Falkenrath
Blocking against an Heir of Falkenrath
is a hard thing, since you dont know if it gets flipped or not. If not 2 Damage get through, otherwise it will mostly get flipped, starts flying, gets stronger and triggers another Creature into play with madness or if it would die a Fiery Temper or Lightning Axe.
You even can provide a blocker by flipping Heir of Falkenrath
during an attack and getting an Incorrigible Youths or something else in play
Stromkirk Condemned
Costefficient by plus the ability
Triggers Madness erveytime you want
Boosts all your Creatures if blocking, attacking or maybe just Surviving a Shockspell.
Only Downside is the double color:
Drana, Liberator of Malakir
Very costefficient by 2/3 flying and firststrike plus ability
Boosts your whole Team over the Top after cleaning the way with Fiery Temper, Lightning Axe and Murder
Only Downside again is the double color:
Olivia, Mobilized for War
Bloodhall Priest
Costefficient by 4/4 plus amazing ability, triggering often in this Deck
Bursting a 2/2 creature every Turn if there no Cards in Hand or weakens the stronger blockers, but not enough with that, it will hit your opponent straight to the Face if you wish so.
Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
Looking for Budget this Card is just included once. First It's legendary. Second it's nice to have but really it is an out for Losing a round by cheating him in by madness enabled by Falkenrath Gorger block something dead and gain some life in the Process.
Fits well in the deck and ads some Utility
Incorrigible Youths
Turn two Heir of Falkenrath
flipping in third Turn playing Incorrigible Youths with Madness and suddenly there a 7 Damage out of nowhere in the Thrid turn.
Perfect to create Pressure
Surprises every time and by this often wins a game
Voldaren Pariah
Spells
Now to the bread and Butter Clearing the Way for big attack and using Madness until you can feel you're mad.
Fiery Temper
- 3 Damage to Creature or !!!Player for . Perfekt
Lightning Axe
- 5 Damage for even Better but just for Creatures. And there is another downside, or is there.Casting an Lightning Axe by discarding a Fiery Temper is 8 damage for !!!!!!!!
Murder
- Solidly removing nearly everything
Tormenting Voice
A strong card on it's own, but with the backdraw beeing a huge advantage for us simply one of the best Cards in this Deck.
Bursting out cheaper Creatures or releasing carnage by killing others, while improving the Cards in the hand is simply a Dream come true.
Conclusion
There are so many Synergies i cant tell them all to you, and even if i could, this fun i wont take from you.Explore the deck as much as you want it hides a lot of powerful Synergies.
