This Deck is meant to put artifact and artifact creatures out as fast as possible, so that on turn two you can sacrifice them all and put them on Arcbound ravager making it huge. Cranial plating is put in there for the sheer fact of it making your artifacts stronger because of the other artifacts you have. Steel overseer is used simply because each turn you put a +1/+1 counter on each artifact creature. With Academy ruins it allows you to put any artifact back on to the battlefield, at instant speed, that you may have lost or sacrificed in order to to grow the Ravager.
