The goal of this deck is to use the drakes Talrand makes to protect yourself while you draw your deck out to win the game. If you need more protection/Talrand gets shocked, there are other cards that create permanents when you draw, like Shark Typhoon. The deck functions well by manipulating your draws so you can draw the perfect cards in order to surprise your opponents with a victory. Jace works well as both a card draw engine and a wincon, Thassa's Oracle provides card selection (but should mainly be used as a wincon) and of course there's Lab Maniac. Originally, I brewed a Jin-Gitaxias deck, but I feel he works better as one of the 99 as he's unexpected and hopefully, by the time you get him out, your opponents have used their removal on the more aggressive decks at the table or on Talrand.
