A few months ago, I participated in a Friday Night Magic event for the first time in more than 10 years. I had a blast, and I learned a lot, but I wanted to try building a deck that could keep up a little better with the other players. The deck list you see started as a Standard Mono White Aggro Challenger deck, and, thanks to a gift card to an online card retailer, this is what I have now.
I have the basics of what you see in a lot of human decks: Champion of the Parish, Thalia's Lieutenant, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Coppercoat Vanguard, and Adeline, Resplendent Cathar. The rest of the creatures you see are budget options that I've found to be rather powerful.
My mana base is the most budget aspect of my deck. I'm running Snow-Covered Plains so I can play Faceless Haven as a low-budget Mutavault alternative and play On Thin Ice as a Path to Exile with less downsides. I'm hoping I can continue to develop as time goes on.
My sideboard contains a few cards that are more specific to my local meta, and I've never built a sideboard before playing FNM at this store, so I'm open for suggestions if you have any.
If you have any low budget recommendations that you think might help, please feel free to leave a comment. Thank you for taking the time to check out my deck!
