This is an attempt to bring modern's "hate-bears" to standard, slowing down the opponent and generating small advantages to grind out the victory.
Authority of the Consuls + Thalia - Ruin the opponent's tempo, stops them blocking or crewing vehicles, and completely shuts off haste. The life gain from Authority is a huge pain for aggro decks to deal with.
Kambal, Consul of Allocation - This guy is an absolute beast in a tonne of match-ups, and can win the game on his own if your opponent can't deal with him effectively, plus we have a bunch of ways to protect him, so dealing with him becomes much harder. Of course he's useless if your opponent only ever plays creatures, so he gets sided out when necessary.
Always Watching - Very powerful in this deck and meta, since a lot of removal is damage based right now, this helps push our threats just out of removal range, it also lets us attack without worries of counter swings, and just hit harder overall.
Selfless spirit - Great value creature. Protects your team from most removal and can swing for 2 in the air.
Thraben Inspector - Great value, play it early to stock a draw for later, or play it later and draw straight away.
Ayli, Eternal pilgrim - Solid value creature (notice a theme? ;) ) trade's off with your opponent's bigger threats, and can allow you to turn dieing creatures into life. Becomes a real monster with an always watching down.
Fairgrounds Warden - Universal (almost) removal with a creature body attached. Value. Sure they can get it back if they kill it, but 1. we have protection, and 2. If they're using removal on this guy, they aren't using it on our other guys.
Aerial Responder - Vampire nighthawk in white, solid card.
Liliana, the last hope - Has a lot of good targets in standard right now to outright kill (Rattlechains, Veteran motorist and Selfless spirit, to name a few). Or she can just lock down their biggest threat each turn, and if need be, we can just go into defense mode, keep her ticking up, go ultimate and win.
Gideon, Ally of zendikar - Wins you the game, because he's Gideon.
So far I only have this deck online and not in paper, but if it looks promising I do plan to acquire it, and so far the results are looking good, does well against pummel and gearhulks, though I've yet to see how we fare against vehicles or hard control yet, so this is mostly theory right now.
Thank you for looking at my deck, please let me know what you think and give suggestions to help me make it better.
