Actually, I decided to just put the disciples back in the side board. I don't think they need to be in the main board, but we'll see what the meta is like over the next couple weeks. I made a few other changes. I usually only play with 2 caryatids, but it's nice to have the 3rd sometimes for the extra blue-mana fixing.

Would you consider 2 Master of Waves? And maybe an Obelisk of Urd? With devotion and enough dudes from Queen and Master, Urd comes into play free, and all tokens get huge!!!

Playing Master of Waves and Obelisk of Urd would change the strategy too much and I would loose too much devotion to green. It's really the powerful simic cards that I feel makes it worth playing blue, otherwise monogreen devotion is pretty strong just on its own. Kiora, prophet, follower, and Sagu Mauler though are worth playing the blue for. I feel like Master of Waves is still a decent card, but it only really shines in a blue devotion deck ... if I tried to play it in this deck I would usually only get a couple of tokens out of it. Obelisk of Urd seems like it would work pretty nicely with Elspeth though.

Because Prophet of Kruphix is basically a dead card in your hand if you already have one in play. I used to play 3 in the deck and I may consider running 3 again, but I have been trying to cut things to make room for some of the new cards. Prophet was one of the only cards left that is occasionally a dead card in my hand ... however, it also frequently wins me games.

Deck looks great, as you said, very similar card selection. Never been a fan of Kiora and I feel like she's worse than ever with mantis riders abounding in the meta. Have you had a different experience with her?
October 14, 2014 12:25 a.m.
I found Kiora to be pretty strong pre-rotation (mostly against desecration demons and stormbreath dragons), and she synergies well with Courser of Kruphix. She can also sometimes stall someone just long enough for me to stabilize and the card advantage can be useful. However, I feel that she is a lot weaker in the new meta and I have been considering taking her out completely, or at least going down to just 1.

Are there any matchups you board out Prophet of Kruphix? I just have the one main because i only feel like i want to keep her against the mirror and aggro decks to help load the board fast, exert pressure, and have blockers. Without any card draw in our decks Ive felt its bad to have prophet against any heavy attrition matchs such as abzan, control, or jeskai post sideboard. Have you had a different experience?

I run g/u deck as well(Element of Treachery), You should check it out, it might give you ideas, but that aside how well does Sagu Mauler play in your deck? I'm thinking of running some in mine.

Advocate, I usually side Prophet of Kruphix out against Abzan control/midrange because I don't want to be dropping my hand and then have them cast End Hostilities. Against a more aggro Abzan deck, I might keep one or two in the deck so I can catch up and drop a bunch of fatties mid game. Yeah, I might take it out against Jeskei in favor of more Arbor Colossus and Hornet Queen for the sideboard games, but it's still not bad against Jeskei ... it usually draws some hate away from the real threats and can allow you to flash in a surprise Arbor Colossus. Definitely having two (or even three) against mirror matches is really good though. Against any form of green devotion or midrange aggro deck, Prophet of Kruphix is often an "I win" card ... and you don't want to be the one without a prophet if your opponent has one in those matchups. It's also good against the Mardu midrange matchups ... I had already posted on your decklist a little while ago and I got the idea to start running Stubborn Denial from you. Thank you, that card is amazing in this deck. ;) ... btw, what decks do you side in Hornet Nest against?
TheLaughingJackal, Sagu Mauler is really good. I am planning to pick up two more for the side board against Abzan midrange/control matchups ... it's also really-really good against Jeskei and Mardu because they basically have no answer for it. I definitely would recommend trying it out.

Oh, Advocate, I almost forgot ... AEtherspouts has not really seen much use yet, but I am still convinced that it could be an amazing card against Abzan aggro, Mardu Aggro, or possibly some mirror matches ... it really needs more testing though. It was meant to be a replacement for Cyclonic Rift, to which it doesn't even come close to being as awesome ... I still haven't given up on it yet though, as I think it has potential.
Also ... I haven't been too impressed with Bow of Nylea lately. It seems like it's too often a useless card. What matches have you found it particularly good against? I've been thinking about just taking it out of the sideboard.

This is random but have you tried Roar of Challenge it plays well with Bow of Nylea.

TheLaughingJackal, I'm not even running a copy of Bow of Nylea anymore. Thanks for the suggestion though, that sounds like it would be a pretty amusing combo in an aggro deck.
