When I saw Animar I thought "how cool would it be to be to churn out big, awesome creatures really cheaply?", so I filled a deck with lots of creatures. Soon after, I was offered a Primal Surge which nobody else wanted. I traded a regular rare for it. Now my plan was similar, but more focused: fill it with as many permanants as possible for a massive Primal Surge.

Also the new Commander decks have given us Opal Palace, so if Animar does keep getting killed then at least it'll grow when you recast it.

Another thing I'd like to add is a Sword of Feast and Famine. Stick it or the Bear Umbra on Hellkite Charger and you can get as many attack steps as you want,

The other infinite combo, if you need it, is Warstorm Surge + Sekki, Season's Guide. Warstorm Surge on the battlefield, cast Sekki. Sekki deals 8 damage to itself, it dies. It makes 8 1/1 Spirits which each do 1 damage wherever you want. Then you sacrifice the 8 tokens to Sekki, returning it to play. Sekki then does 8 damage to itself again. Repeat.
