I'll be keeping the deck up to date with FNM results and any changes I make based on the meta.

By the way - Villainous Wealth is damn good vs green-based monster decks. Be afraid D:

Wombo-Combo I can see that being scary, that is where my Stubborn Denial Laughs in their face.

Very true.

I personally ended up going with Negate over Stubborn Denial . The difference in mana cost is mostly irrelevant I think, but the condition of having a 4 power creature on the field in the face of Despise ,Thoughtsieze and removal seemed too inconsistent.

WomboCombo Well first things first, if you don't a creature with power 4 or greater to pay you lost the game already. Secondly that is the beauty of Stubborn Denial you can counter a turn 1 Despise or Thoughtseize , I have play tested and you would be surprised how many times I was able to play a big creature and only have one mana open.

Guess it ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Countering turn 1 Despise / Thoughtseize when you're on the play seems pretty sweet though, I didn't consider that.

WomboCombo There is a certain joy when you get to see the smirk of your opponent wash away as you laugh menacingly.

godofcruelty I thought about it, but I just don't like the fact is is double blue and 3cmc. I am really tempted to because in a monsters vs. monsters it would be a huge blow out. I also like more Turn to Frog because it is 2 mana, so I can use it efficiently early and late game. Being able to hit Mantis Rider and block it with anything on my board is very helpful and not the difficult to do since it only requires one blue.

only noobs cast Villainous Wealth when their opponent has untapped mana.

DaigarStrasis But only noobs tap out their mana late game when their opponent has Villanous Wealth. It is pretty easy to hold on blue mana source up.

yeah same goes either way. my mono green devotion deck runs villainous wealth in it, and no one expects it, they are too busy trying to counter a creature when I have 20+ mana open.

True, but what if the opponent has Archetype of Endurance ? Turn to Frog would be rendered useless. Polymorphist's Jest TARGETS THE PLAYER and turns EVERYTHING and into a 1/1 frog. therefore, hexproof will be screwed up and will not effect this particular spell. Also when played with Barrage of Boulders is lethal

godofcruelty if my opponent is playing Archetype of Endurance Then I am very happy they are playing such a slow card that won't prevent me from winning. My deck isn't removal focused so it doesn't bother me to much if someone plays somethings to prevent a secondary focus in my deck it doesn't bother me. I don't see why I would play a very expensive combo with Barrage of Boulders .

thanks for adding Polymorphist's Jest in (it feels so good to be appreciated).

godofcruelty lol no problem. I am still debating between this and Curse of the Swine though, I am leaning towards this though. You can see the discussion at http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/rawr-rug-monsters/ .
