How has vraska been? I think i might take her out for another garruk, but i dont have any experience playtesting her.

I've playtested with 2x Vraska and 1x and I will not be playing more than one. She is great if you can get her up because the tokens can really protect her and the removal she provides is amazing. I haven't really playtested much with Garruk, Primal Hunter in this deck so I'll see how he works.

Rootborn Defenses would be good for board wipes

I mean, there's definitely the beginnings of a joke there. Just... no connection.

love the deck, my friend is making a junk deck and wants to play Parallel Lives . im telling him its not good enough to play, but he wont believe me, so if you have enough time, could you explain why Parallel Lives isn't good.

This deck could use some card:Sorrow's Path and some Mudhole and maybe even some Wood Elemental .

theonyc: I think that Parallel Lives CAN be good. However, in a build as aggressive as this one it is not. This is mainly because spending 4 mana to put down an enchantment generally just wastes a turn in which my opponent can do something more productive. I would rather be making more tokens or removing some of their threats with that mana than preparing for a future turn. Also, the four mana spot can be filled by cards SO much better than Parallel Lives , such as Garruk Relentless  Flip and Sorin, Lord of Innistrad , or I could use that mana to give my creatures all +1/+1 counters with Gavony Township or lifelink and deathtouch with Vault of the Archangel (which is insanely helpful in this deck, I got past 50 life at FNM using vault and Thragtusk and this isn't even a lifegain deck). If your friend wants to play a more late game version of junk (although I don't advise it) then there is nothing wrong with Parallel Lives but if he wants to be aggressive like this deck it is just way too slow. Hope this helps

card:Sorrow's Path, Mudhole and Wood Elemental walk into a bar...

Those cards are just awful. Someone at wizards needs to be shot just for letting those be print.

Sick deck man, very nice. I put together a deck concept very similar, but with a heavier focus investing into black. The big differences I can see are instead of Garruk, Primal Hunter and Loxodon Smiter I had Bloodline Keeper  Flip 's and Vampire Nighthawk 's with some Tragic Slip 's. The synergy of Bloodline Keeper  Flip with Sorin, Lord of Innistrad is absolutely disgusting, particularly combined with your other anthem effects. Granted it does slow the deck a bit though, but if/when the token engine gets rolling it is GG real quick.

I like this quicker build, good job!

Thanks bud. I like the idea of using Bloodline Keeper  Flip with Sorin, Lord of Innistrad . I used to run a vampire build revolving around that concept but it was too slow for my liking.

Take out 2 planeswalkers for 2 Oblivion Ring . All you have is creature removal.

hollandboys says... #16

Vraska the Unseen destroys anything but I can't rely on that. I don't want to remove any walkers though. What about 1 Sever the Bloodline and 1 Selesnya Charm ?

December 6, 2012 2:46 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #17

No, Vraska the Unseen is just expensive removal at best. Plus the main difference between her and O-ring could be Gravecrawler , card:Geralf's Messenger and Angel of Serenity . O-ring will beat all of them.

I say take out Vraska the Unseen and Sigarda, Host of Herons .

theonyc says... #18

thanks for the help above, if you do take out sigarda then you should put it in your sideboard. as a control player, as long as i dont counter her, i lose

December 6, 2012 3:02 p.m.

hollandboys says... #19

Ya Sigarda, Host of Herons is more of a sideboard card especially now that I am using Loxodon Smiter as my main beater. Generally if I can get loxodon out there the game doesn't last long enough to play sigarda. I am also thinking of running 2 Ethereal Armor and 2 Rancor instead of 4 Rancor . What do you guys think?

December 6, 2012 3:11 p.m.

theonyc says... #20

i think you should try to fit in one more Intangible Virtue , not sure about armor though

December 6, 2012 3:13 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #21

4 and 4, if you're going down that route. Hell, you should work on an enchantment deck seperate to this with the following cards

Rancor

Oblivion Ring

Ethereal Armor

Sphere of Safety

Soul Tithe

Abundant Growth

December 6, 2012 3:15 p.m.

hollandboys says... #22

Theres no way I am running 4 of each mainly because they just won't fit. However, I have been thinking of ways to utilize Ethereal Armor because it is so good and so underrated so I will make the enchantment deck whenever I get the time. Probably when procrastinating from studying

December 6, 2012 3:17 p.m.

theonyc says... #23

don't play Sphere of Safety , Soul Tithe and maybe Abundant Growth . green white enchantments should be a quick aggro, those are too slow

December 6, 2012 3:18 p.m.

theonyc says... #24

apparently an enchantment aggro can win turn 3, standard.
